Hi Madi, I made a start today clearing out my late Wife Lynn’s stuff, it’s something that needs facing and dealing with. Can’t believe how many clothes and shoes she had, strangely she only wore about 3 tops which were her favourites. Anyway, made good progress today sorting through it all. Found several chemotherapy wigs, not sure what do do with them. My charity is Cancer Research UK.
@LaceySawyerFincher2 жыл бұрын
Hi! I’m also decluttering and had a ton of chemo wigs I needed to purge. I called my nurse at my cancer center - and she gave me some places! Maybe try calling up the cancer center (or office) she used. ❤ Well wishes for you during this tough time!

Hi Madi! My husband and I have been desiring slow living and minimalism for a couple years now, and your videos gave that desire voice and provided the catalyst we needed to really make lasting changes. I'm also a Christian, and it's so encouraging to see you living out God's calling on your life -- and to see how that has in turn impacted me and my future family. Praise Jesus!

Have been on a mission the past few months to totally downsize and your videos are giving me all the motivation and positive vibes! Already feeling so much lighter and I can see the positive effects that decluttering and downsizing is having on my little ones. I went from pure chaos 90% of the time to a manageable and much calmer house. I’m actually able to go to bed with a fairly clean house each night which I massive change for us! So refreshing to not have to constantly stress about the mess. Snagged your e-book, so excited to jump in! Thanks for sharing your experience and please keep the videos coming!

Just the motivation I needed! As far as donations, a church in our area has an outdoor " blessings box " where we take in date, non perishable food items as well as hygiene products that sit unused. Most everything else goes to goodwill. I'm currently just starting a no buy... So hopefully I can declutter less in the upcoming months.

I'm on the opposite spectrum of life. I'm retired and now have the time to declutter my house and make it "into a home". There is indeed a big difference. Minimalism=peace as the stuff you accumulated no longer owns you. I'm ashamed to admit that I never organized my family photos. They are in a box. One of my first goals will be to go through the pictures and pull out the ones I love and create a family mural in my living room. My favorite place to donate is the salvation army. Thank you for helping us live peaceful lives. God bless ✨

Just recently found a local thrift store that is 100% volunteer run and they have a food pantry attached. Very cool! It's further away than goodwill/meltrotter (bigger name thrift stores) but I save stuff in the garage for when I go over there! Worth it to me! Love watching these videos. A TAKE 10 - is such a easy way for me. I bought a large tarp bag with a sturdy handles. As I go about my day / week, I see things I am not using / needing / a QUIK sweep of a room Taking 10 items from either one room or multiple rooms. Once it's full it's dropped off a thrift of choice. Bring the bag back home And do it again. It keeps it all flowing and never a build up.

The first 10-15 seconds of this video gave me cruise ship vibes! So fun! Also, loved the fun editing you did when your husband was sorting through his things. To answer your question, my favorite donation place is Salvation Army because they are a non-profit organization that helps out 14 other organizations in my community (and lots of organizations world wide). My second favorite is my local homeless shelter, as they take food and a few other things that I cannot donate to Salvation Army.

Ooh, I’m looking forward to reading your eBook! There is a thrift store around the corner from us where I donate clothes. We have a bunch of street libraries in our area where I regularly drop off books we no longer want. To get rid of unwanted toys I just place them at our front fence and passersby usually take them over the course of a few days. That’s my favourite way to get rid of stuff, as I often get to chat to these people if I happen to be outside, and it’s nice to see their kids getting excited about the toys.

I’ve been watching your videos for a while, love that your channel has taken off! I can really tell you put a lot of effort into your footage. I was hoping you could do a sit down chatty video on how you managed to break your clothes addiction, let go of clothes equaling to an identity, and how you stop yourself from falling down a rabbit hole of binge shopping when you need to add new pieces? This is such a struggle for me and I would love encouragement and guidance on how to truly stop idolizing clothes and the idea that I need to portray the real me through the way I dress. Edit: I used to go dumpster diving with my mom every weekend when we lived in Florida and loved it! People threw out such good stuff 🤣

This is just my opinion…take it or leave it. I don’t care for the words instead of talking ( voice over) …they go by too fast and I’m concentrating so much on reading that I’m not even watching the video at all really. I find it frustrating. Also, I prefer when people are decluttering to actually talk through what they are thinking, processing, deciding, struggling with…it’s so much more relatable. Just watching someone fast forward organize or clean just has no meaning to me at all. Even if there is a bit of both talking and then a little fast forwarding ..if people think it’s too chatty or getting too long THEY can always fast forward the video themselves.

Your videos are more enjoyable when you use captions instead of your voice.
