AMEN SISTER! You've described my whole 34 years of life in a nutshell! Angry, defensive, not a pleasant person to be around. Then I found God and became a homemaker, and my life drastically changed for the better. It's so cathartic to hear a similar story from other people. It makes you feel less alone. Thanks so much for sharing this

“I thought that slowing down meant I was lazy but it was actually an act of trust believing that God can and will take care of everything even if I’m not hustling “ that right there is a powerful statement and worth asking the lord if that’s what we’ve believed in our own hearts . That hit me hard enough to repent of not trusting him to care for me and my family when I wasn’t busy. This fear of not doing enough caused me to show fear towards my hubs and children and I get so frustrated and sad bc of the cycle I felt stuck in. I prayed many times and asked the Lord for forgiveness and for insight and after several yrs of this i can say I actually am motivated to slow down and be diligent to be present and for me that also means less time in my phone. I feel more content and at peace and have a peaceful mind and that is gold🙌🏼

Wow, what a powerful testimony! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. Slowing down can be challenging, and it's so worth it! I'm still actively working at that every day, constantly reminding myself that I don't have to be doing to be obedient to His path for us ❤

It's so much calmer without so much junk to worry about, care for, clean, see, smell, etc. I think for a lot of people it creates sensory overload. I remember waking up in the middle night in an absolute panic wondering how I would ever pack up and move all my stuff... never mind that I wasn't even planning to move! Rehoming (which I did) most of it has created such a sense of calm and peacefulness. When we were cavepeople we had to be able to pick up and move quickly & that is still in our DNA...

Coming across this video… I don’t even know where to begin! Wow! Amen! I have been dealing with all that you’ve touched on for the longest time! Now that I’m a mom of two young kiddos, stuff has just literally taken over and cluttered my mind & our home. All I want to do is sit and spend time with my babies, but I’m constantly worrying about laundry and dishes, and picking up and everything I have to do during the day. I feel like I need to rewatch this video so many times just to remind myself that it’s OK to slow down and not have to worry about everything. I immediately subscribed to your channel, and I’m so excited to check out your videos 🫶🏼

I also work in corporate world and it just doesn't appeal to me anymore after having children. I am in a similar journey of discovering slow, simple living and remaining in God's peace. What are some other things you implemented to help you quell your anger if i may ask?

Thank you for sharing your experience! When I wake up before the girls and have my peace and quiet with Jesus in the morning, I feel FULL! I'm then able to increase my capacity for the day. During that time, I prayer journal, write what I'm grateful for, and read the Bible. I've also found that when I rest during the girls' nap time in the afternoon instead of doing everything, I'm able to recharge, which then helps me with my triggers. I hope this answers your question ❤

Every journey is different as we are all different. There is however a difference between being organized and being minimalist. One is to plan things and to keep things tidied while the other is to own only what adds value and to remove the rest. Hope this gives you hope that you can also be on a minimalism journey if you desire, regardless of how organized you are ❤

Do you perhaps have a chance to get tested for ADHD? The racing mind (amongst other things) is sometimes not just what you might think it is… no harm in checking, as the solutions/ ways of thinking/living are a bit different once you are aware of your own body’s condition… I always thought I had one “illness” but now I see that it might be something else… currently looking for a professional to do a diagnosis for myself
@messy2mastery25 күн бұрын
I can see how learning more about yourself through a diagnosis might be helpful for some people, and I hope you find the clarity you are looking for. Personally, I feel that in our modern society, there is a growing tendency to label everything and everyone and make it part of a diagnosis. We have also been conditioned to think we need to be going non-stop and to be productive, which can make it challenging to recognize when we simply need to slow down. For me, simplifying my life and turning to prayer have been far more helpful than seeking a label or diagnosis ❤
@mellowmusic137225 күн бұрын
@ I totally agree with you about the labels stuff. Thank you for your reply. Personally for me the “diagnosis” is not so much for labels, as it is more to understand how I can function better in a day to day life. Since about the age 12 years old I had depression (for over 23 years), been overweight, been anorexic, thought whether I was bipolar, I was either tooooo motivated and impulsive or tooo down right suicidal, and I tried a bunch of different stuff like prayers, meditation, journaling, exercise, diets, meetups, reading self help books. Pretty much the only thing I did not do was go to seek psychiatric diagnosis. Now like couple of months ago I stumbled upon one KZbin video (don’t remember which), where the person said that in the case of (I don’t remember which diagnosis they had autism or ADHD or something) their diagnosis depression is just a side effect, not the main cause. When I heard that it sort of clicked in my head “hey there is no need to jump off some tall building, I can just look at it as a symptom of a different issue all together”. Serendipitously I had made an appointment with a lovely lady who works with energy healing and whatever natural therapy things for that week (made like a month prior), and I can not say for sure whether it was that YT video or that lady’s help which worked for me (perhaps the two together), but since that week I did not continue contemplating about various rooftops. So I think in some cases having a diagnosis (or at least an idea that their “depression” is not actually that, but just a side effect of some chemical imbalance in their brain) is really helpful. Moreover the more I learn about this “disorder”, the more I find interesting and useful ways to make my life more of how I want it to be. I started to accept myself more the way I am and understand that I will never be able to do with the same ease (or at all) some things that many other people find easy or simple or just natural. In your case it is prayer and God and church community, which is great. For me on some level I am a little jealous (in a nice way) that you can find that through prayer. I’m either “not there yet”, or “not how I function”, and that’s okay, I know. Thus I need to find other means that work for me. Oh, like decluttering. For instance I actually don’t care much for “minimalism”, however my “whatever disorder I got” brain loves clarity and order and when everything is tidy. My physical part of me finds it often very very very difficult to actually DO something, anything, on some days (especially before that week when I went to see that energy lady). So I keep my stuff as minimal as I can, IN ORDER TO make my life easier and more functional. Not because I like the esthetics of it or whatever. Like if you only got four plates even if all of them are dirty- it’s just 4, not 10-20-50. 4 is easier to deal with than 20 on a “bad” day. I find that minimalism and decluttering are not an option but more of a necessity for me. Sorry for the long rant. Good luck and holiday blessings to you and your family!
