I've been surprised how many resellers don't use business policies for shipping. I implemented them as soon as they became available. I can't begin to guess how many hours I've saved over the years as postage and courier rates changed to say nothing of the ease when listing to just pick a shipping policy from the drop down. I also took down all my listings about 18 months ago as I moved from two smaller storage units into one larger. I used that as an opportunity both to audit the stock and to add location SKUs--as I've got older and the number of listings went well over 1k I've found it less easy to simply rely on memory. It didn't help that some listings were over 7 years old (though they were mainly multi-quantity and had been regularly delisted /sold similar). I saw a big jump in sales, found some items listed that didn't seem to actually exist and discovered a lot of unlisted stock--some of which I had no memory of buying (including nearly 1500 CDs!).

Complete NIGHTMARE! I finally deleted all policies and went back to old way. I hope yours works out but it has happend to multple people I know - Ebay keeps changing them.

YES! Also, I noticed that eBay automatically added shipping policies (that I didn't create) to my listings & they don't show shipping costs. Now I have to go in & try & sort out the mess. I did a 'sell one like this' from a seller with same item so maybe it picked up their selling policies? Either way, I don't like not being able to see shipping costs.😢 yikes... What a Hot Mess. I'm going to end my listings & do 'sell similar' & see what happens. It's frustrating. Time & energy consuming.
@commonwealthflipper Жыл бұрын
Those were policies that strangely enough you had created unwittingly. What I mean is that when you don’t have business policies each individual items has its own policy. So when you go to relist an item the old policy for that item shows up as a new shipping policy. When the process is complete you can delete all of those policies that have no item attached to them.

Double edged sword to end a listing without achieving sell-thru, contrarians could argue to rather just edit the listing and 'fix' it. Both sides are correct in this argument. I regularly kill all my listings even with many watchers then re-post as "sell similar" to go after the people who troll new listings as my thinking is that they are motivated to get items before others get a chance to get it. I hate business policies on ebay because the moment you set up one, you have to set up a whole bunch of them. I prefer ZERO policies so that my listing remains highly customizable for each item especially when it comes to inputting shipping options because I like to quickly calculate shipping rates and then choose the cheapest options between priority and fedex. You cant really calculate shipping or choose if you set up policies. You have to blindly choose between ground, priority, fedex or a combination if you have policies in place. Im always hearing people complaining about undercharging for shipping because they either guessed or didn't measure/weight item before listing it due to inability to do so cuz of policies.

One price for Canada and one price for the rest of the world. Canadian shipments take a week and overseas are 2/3 weeks depending. I implemented this earlier this year when they made the second change to the international policy. My international sales are booming. While your doing all this work, it may be another avenue for more revenue off your main platform. Food for thought. Also when you are listing, you can make one time adjustments to your pre built shipping policies. Its very handy for one offs! Edit, only applys to items under 4#.

Quick question if you have a minute. Is doing a whole new listing as good as sell similar. Both count as new listings correct. Bless you and your videos!❤

It’s debatable. I think the answer used to be yes. Sorry that isn’t helpful.

What’s does Q4 mean? I keep hearing this around other you tubers. Should I be listing more now?
@sassfireluna659 Жыл бұрын
4th quarter of the year ... usually for tax and organization businesses will divide the year in 4
@brettfan0570 Жыл бұрын
Also, you can get more sales due to Christmas being in Q4.

4th sales quarter of the year. Important one since it includes Holiday/Christmas sales.

Aren’t you limited on items you can list/relist similar before paying for listing. I’m at 250 per month which I never come close to. I did the same thing with my dead weight in April. I had a garage sale and made a couple hundred bucks on items that probably wouldn’t have sold.

I have a Store subscription that is unlimited.

So what website can I find your listings now?
@commonwealthflipper Жыл бұрын
? No website

I usually find a mistake in the ad when I relist or sell similar 😅😅

If they are cross listed, list perfectly won’t link them, right?
@commonwealthflipper Жыл бұрын
Not sure I understand the question.

I have had too many nightmares with policies, but I really need to de-list and sell similar a bunch too.

Sounds like buyers don’t see the discounted shipping rate that eBay has us pay? Didn’t realize that was the case if you do calculated shipping. How strange, I wonder why they do it that way.
@mikeyb1981 Жыл бұрын
They don’t, but you can select to pass the savings to them and they’ll see it
@commonwealthflipper Жыл бұрын
They do it that way to collect a higher fee on shipping costs and pass some of the savings to us which we would use for supplies etc.. however it can make your overall cost uncompetitive.
