Shrinking: -rewatching parts of season 1 as the new season is taking off and I remember loving the show yet can't believe that I forgot how much I loved episode 6, and parts of why (minor season 1 spoiler): 1. One of the "conversations" pointed out for me that a term legitimately applies, and validated my shell shock and struggle to cope, when I was proposed to long ago as a surprise at a party of a large group of friends at one of their houses. "Emotional blackmail" may not be a stretch, at all. Wasn't a happy "I wanna marry you" like the couple in the show actually was. 2. Fast forward decades, long single by choice, and yet, boy does this episode make me wonder if I very much want a "Derek". 😁😄

There seem to be more than a few people who do, and I do not think it's a result of any cosmetic surgery for a good percentage of them. I think it's simply good living, and good fortune combined with a phenomenon of how some physical types (genes and certain physiological characteristics? mystery to me), peak later in life and some peak younger in terms of how they appear.

Harrison doing comedy is the greatest thing, he's my all-time favorite since I was a wee teenager in junior high. And he also reminds me of my late husband....maybe that's why I married my husband. :)

It's sad the only Hollywood couple on screen was Aston Kutcher and Mila Kunis. So many could be great. Like those two. But I think an interview revealed that Segal smoked on how I met your mother and Alyson Hannigan hated the kissing scenes.

Fantastic to be granted the private behind the scenes bits about Harrison Ford's antics, how Segel (no doubt accurately) interpreted, and also that whispered comment (which Stephen so humbly and wistfully wished he shared about confidence in his comedic talent).

I loved when he said, "I was born without a sense of pride or shame" in the second half of the interview. That certainly sums up the origins of a lot of what makes him a shining example of humanity. So glad his soul was nurtured and his talent was recognized and supported.

Interesting that he has Freaks & Geeks, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and the End of the Tour in his intro, but not HIMYM. I guess either that's the stuff he's most proud of, or else he figures that's the stuff that'll appeal most to possible audiences of Shrinking.
