Great video Marcus. Nevermind some of the negative comments.👎 I love the fact that some other people also recognises the fact that you hide nothing and that takes alot, as plenty of people would hide their mistakes and only show positivity. You keep going pal. In the future, somebody somewhere will use your video as a reference as they fix their engine. O yes, i do not think that head is scrap, it can be saved. Love your content. Way back with an old Ford I cut the mounts off the axle and made some longer saddles, so that they extended further back and forwards on the leaves. Had a great effect on stopping axle wind up and you can weld the new mounts with the diff clocked right for your riide height. Someone with a plasma cutter and a folder could make the mounts in minutes. Good to see you got the engine running again.

What a week for you, geez, glad you got there 👍. I had a zetec bend all 16 valves due to the pulley not being torqued up right. Deffo interference. Ever since then I've dowell pinned the pulleys into the cam. Also if the cam belt doesn't tighten up due to skimming or thin gaskets (or both) , there's provision for a small idler pulley down near the crank, it's the same size as the silvertop zetec one, it allows more tension on the belt . Great vid, had my anx going a little lol

Man that sucks ☹ but you got it sorted for now, and sorting out the back another time, but yeah you should have the rubber bits in between the diff, for location of the diff, you will need to get the bit welder for strength, and the bars shortened, with my escort van the diff was crooked didn't know why until I swoped it, as it is a Mark 1 escort van, someone put a Mark 2 escort diff in it and the location whole is bigger than the Mark 1 so the diff was crooked all that time and I put mud flaps on the back but one wheel always rubbed where it bolted to, so I took them off then found out later why ☹ any way hope you make it to the event?

I think the risk of using old microfibers to cover the block was the least of your issues! You must have the lower pulley on as thee is nothing else which keeps the belt on thd pullies...It isn't like a regular V belt or polyvee which by their design run in a track which locates them. Hey pal Jamie from retro rust hear , I work at ford dealership as a job , I can confirm ur issue is not the tentionor it’s because the crank pulley wasn’t on its caused the belt to work it’s way off , next time you have it in bits turn it over by hand with no pulley on and u will see it working it’s way off , Also correct the tentionor tentions the way of the arrow , also mate no worries about the head gasket u have on there at the moment now as you say it’s half a mm thick , that makes it 0.5 mm so the old gasket is 0.3 mm so the new gasket is actually thicker so ur all good :)

Marcus five link the rear end and do away with the leaf springs, and fit a reliant scimiter Rear axle as they are an English axle and l.s.d and good for 250 bhp, also about the same width as well.i put a red top in a vauxhall shove it and used the reliant rear end plus it was the right width. Use calibra front discs with the centres machined out slightly and the cosworth rear calipers dead easy to do and relatively cheap plus dead strong.
