Spirit is leading coordination grouping the others into roles, Poltergeist and Oni are the bait using their chaotic power to lure him, Mimic and Obake are on his tail following the evidence tools he left behind, Jinn and Raiju are chasing him in the day while Revenant and Hantu are speeding in the night, Goryo perfectly laid his traps preemptively, Banshee Phantom Wraith and Deogen are spying on him from every corner, Thaye Twins Myling and Shade are hiding in wait to cut him off if he tries to escape, Yurei and Moroi are honing their sanity drain powers in order to overwhelm him, and finally Onryo Mare Yokai and Demon are the heavy weapons ever ready to begin the assault. They now just have to wait for that shiny new truck to roll up.

@@eriksalas165 As far as I know, the Deogen always knows where the player is, and is unmistakably fast as it chases towards where you are (as chat was able to notice); but as soon as it gains line of sight with the player, it slows to a crawl, as Insym saw after leaving the room

That Goryo in the no evidence run on Willow reminds me of a ghost I just had with friends earlier. Did an event, got the picture, it disappeared IMMEDIATELY, ghost photo counted (3-star), no distortion in picture. Phantom, right? Evidence ended up narrowing down to Oni or Yurei, which we leaned toward Oni because of how active and how many events it did. Ended up being a Yurei that somehow mimicked a Phantom, roamed so much we considered Twins briefly before getting a second evidence and ruling out one evidence. We were so confused.

@@bloodhounds3180 A deogen always knows the player's location at all times, it's footsteps are really fast when you're not in his line of sight but it becomes really slow when it can see you, so it's really easy to run away. You can tell when it's a deogen if you hear really fast footsteps gunning straight for your location. It's always a gamble of course, in case it turns out to be not a deogen you're immediately screwed.

Grats on 9k! really cool Deogen hunt in highschool! and then that crazy spirit right after! I wonder how fun, or frustrating, a purely roaming ghost would be. Forcing players to use motion sensors in key locations as well as other items that react to the ghost's presence. Maybe even a new item built with ghost movement in mind.

Just played a game on highschool against a demon where my friends and I were wondering down the upstairs hallway (we heard the sinks turn on and a phone ring). All the sudden we hear this choking noise and we turn around and my one friend is dying! No hunt, no cursed object, nothing! Honest to god one of the scariest things I’ve ever experienced in phasmo, just randomly attacked and killed! We went back in once more and it managed to kill another friend in the gym! For the no sanity grafton challenge and for any future games you might already know this and just didn’t ask but you can ask the board what’s its favorite room and it’ll tell you the ghost room. This is different than “where are you” btw as that tells you where the ghost currently is but the favorite room will tel you the current ghost room.

One of these ghosts is an Obake, I'll spoil it, but won't say which! Now, regarding Obake, you've said a few times lately that it's kinda boring because all it does is have a 6th finger, and sometimes doesn't leave fingerprints. You say it doesn't have much personality... so here's my idea on how to give it one! It's the 'shapeshifting' ghost, yeah, but it doesn't actually change ghost models. If they did that, that would be cool enough, but people could tell if they're attentive enough, after 2 hunts, or ghost events where it manifests. Still, something that makes sense for players that pay attention to pick up on, and those that are less 'in the know' would gloss over, or new players I guess. My idea however is slightly different. When I hear 'Obake' I think it's the 'finger' ghost, or 'handy', or 'touchy' ghost. It would be difficult to make it interact significantly more with items or doors, without it feeling like a poltergeist, an oni or a thaye at the start. No, my idea is something much more unique, that makes it feel like it's the 'hand' ghost. Only at low sanity (hunting range), Obakes should be able to interact with your held item. Not turn it on, because that would mean it spots you and kills you instantly, but it should just pull it out of your hand, as if you dropped/threw it. It would make it look like it had just killed you and you dropped your item, so it might lead to some people being confused and getting out of their hiding spot... actually getting them killed in the process. It should be a fairly low % chance though. Like say 1% per slice of 10% below 50% (hunting range). Meaning, 40-50 = 1% chance. 30-40 = 2%. 20-30 = 3%, 10-20 = 4%, 0-10 = 5%. It's got 5% chance of pulling a smudge stick out of your hand, but it needs to be within range to do it, so you still have a chance to smudge it before it pulls it. Also, it's a low chance, so not necessarily a free kill. Ghost Events should also have a chance of making you drop your held item. Here, it should be 1% per slice of 10% of the player's average sanity overall, so 1%-10% chance overall, during a ghost event. This means if you hold a candle at all times you're inside the house, you stay at 100% sanity, but it still gets a chance to rip your candle out of your hands. THAT is a 'handy' ghost, and it now makes sense that it has extra fingers, it gives him extra grip strength. It might get annoying if it's too often, but that's always a numbers game that can be tweaked further down the line. Also, it could throw any ghost hunter item (aside from just the book) so it might pull your item out of your hands, and keep 'kicking' it away from you like a bully. That could be funny, as long as it doesn't get knocked out of bounds!

I wonder it would be interesting for a type of ghost that hunts earlier more more frequently the more items taken from the house. Maybe the spirit is a "possessive ghost." I think it would be great as poltergeists get more powerful with items and spirits more powerful with less. they are also close in evidences so it would make the nightmare more fun trying to steal or add stuff to a room to get it to hunt.

I have a hard time with the diogen. The first one I had was on Bleasdale. My friend and I hid in the workshop and it didn't kill us. Turns out it had started hunting from upstarts and the hunt timed out like 2/10 of a sec before killing my partner. It was our first time playing on nightmare mode and we had eliminated diogen based on that happening and we had already completed all of the optional objectives.

Yesterday, I had a perfect game with a Deogen and I managed to loop them, but what was strange was the Deogen was surprisingly chill before it was hunting, like it wasn't being extremely aggressive before the hunting... Edit(Sep. 6th 2022):I swear on my mother I thought the knock I heard at 2:48:12 came from the video, but it didn't hear it again when I rewinded, I am not a skeptic but I have no idea who or what just knocked on the wall next to the bathroom, what was weird was that it was just one loud knock that didn't sound like it came from the video...I know the ghost in Phasmophobia can knock but I am 100% sure that it is not supposed to be *that* loud...I am a online college student, home alone, and if it was a intruder, I would have been able to hear them since I have a very good sense of hearing...we have 4 cats, but even our "dumbest" cat isn't stupid enough to ram his head against the wall...

At 2:15:35 that was such a weird hunt. What might have happened is that the ghost may have spotted you going inside the tent or that it decided to check inside and you were too close to the tent entrance. In any case, I would have probably stopped playing the game for a while if I were you, lmao.
