That whole "strong women" bs really grinds my gears. Currently have a similar situation with my, now, ex-wife. After her thumbs up after her cancer treatment, she changed COMPLETELY for the worse. Being social, buying new cloths and spicy underwear, styling her hair before going to work, suddenly paying ridiculous amounts of attention to her looks. Her explanation is "i want to feel like woman a again." I asked her, plainly, if there was another person since she also added secrecy and "hiding" behaviour in the mix upto a point i don't trust her with ANYTHING after 8 years of being together. Kind of comes down to this lady: Radical behavioural changed. Radical choices. Headstrong/stubborn. Unrecognisable changes. Unable to split fiction from nonfiction. I wish you the best man and I hope you bounce back from this! Better happy seperated than unhappy together.

Damn,it's actually quite scary when a woman you have been with for an extended period of time,and invested into emotionally and financially does a "pivot" as women themselves have called it,and change into a different woman wanting different things out of life,and usually want a different man. Ex just thought that she could float in and out of OP'S life at will, with no regard for the damage she caused. Her refusal to get therapy and go to marriage counseling killed her relationship. The way she reacted when OP didn't take her back says it all: she just wanted to keep OP on a leash to jerk around whenever it suited her. He dodged a nuclear weapon with her; heaven help the next poor soul who gets involved with her.

I think I would have to have told her that I was now engaged to another woman. She also got very sick, but we stayed together and I look forward to marrying her and having children with her. She helped me at my lowest time in life and I helped her at one of her lowest. Something a couple should do. I would then ask her why she wanted to meet.

A double mastectomy does NOT mean the cancer is gone. My wife is dying after her third outbreak of breast cancer, after two single mastectomies 10 and 4 years ago, and it is now implanted in her long bones, so no red blood cell production, and other things like calcium and magnesium depletion, and currently no platelet production. Its highly likely the wife here will develop breast cancer again, even though sh has no breasts left.
