Iv been riding a 2001 or a 2006 since 2010 and think the 955i is the best bang for the buck on a motorcycle out there. This is a bike for a tall rider at least a 32 inseam. The bike has very few faults. The battery needs a trickle charger or get a new one every two years. They have to hold a proper charge or the wiring harness can over heat causing connector's to melt. That said keep an eye on it. I love the bike for its handling, breaking, riding position, fuel range, looks, reliability, powerful motor, and all the attention it gets on bike night. It's great on fire roads and the ocational chirt road. Blacktop and interstate riding is good as the bike is tall enough to see over cars. Road bumps and pot Holes are no fun but this bike soaks them up as good as any road bike I've ever ridden. The power is intoxicating and can get you a fast driving aword from the man in blue because he wants to look at the bike up close anyway. I bought both of them for under 4 grand each and that's a lot of bike for that price. You can't buy a dam ten year old klr for that. So if you're taller than 5 foot 8 look for a well maintained one and get it. Also I've seen them with well over a hundred thousand miles and still running like a swiss watch.

Hi, I was looking into the potential leak which turned out to be the output sprocket seal but the bike was fitted with a Scottoiler system. Automatic chain lubrication…

Hey people. Anyone on the oil consumption?? I've noticed that mine consumes some of it around 400ml every 1.000 kilometres. Also it smells like a freakin grill, but i believe that thus comes mostly from the probably burnt fiberglass of the exhaust. If you have any insights let me know as I can't afford an engine rebuild right now and I'm afraid that probably the damn piston rings have issues or I don't know what else.

Thanks for commenting and being here watching! For your bike i would always go back to first principles. When was the last oil and filter change? Check oil level too? Its likely if piston rings you’ll have excessive blow-by this could give a great deal of oil residue in the airbox so check there too. Other things to consider is if breathers are blocked or filters need renewing.

Don't know the 955 but I have been maintaining a 900 legend. It has 100,000 miles on it and has just recently started losing a very slight amount of oil between changes. Tight engine.

hi just bought an tiger 855 are they the same on parts and tyre as the 955 ? you know for a bulb led upgrade?
