One thing I love about Romaine is he never hurries. It always feels like a purposeful meandering through beautiful scenery.

Tears by Romain is another phenomenal song. He deserves so much more attention than he gets. Nice reaction 👌 💛💛💛

😊 this guy. This guy!!! I adore his version of this song. So delicate, fragile, heartfelt. I hope he always keeps that beautiful French accent. The album he released recently is amazing, like old school with a fresh sound. ”Tears (live)” is a great track and also ”Take it all and let me go ”

I've learned that Romain and his guitar are equal partners in singing anything his soul feels.

I really love Romain, he really *feels* the music and it bleeds from him. His instrumentals often say as much as the lyrics. I've just ordered his two cds (he has a third one coming and just released his first vinyls as well).

Hey Aaron! Wow, Kenny Davis called you a cat?! Holy shit Aaron! RESPECT! That's amazing! I'd love to hear your music if you have it publicly available anywhere? Romain is so incredible. He just truly connects to his instrument like it's an extension of his soul, not just an object in his hands. It's like watching some of the greatest guitarists of all time just jam out, but he does this on the regular. As far as I understand it, he's had no formal training in vocal performance, but I believe Ren and Gorran and even Sam have helped Romain out. Also, just a reminder: he is native French and English is a third language for him. I think it should be considered in any sort of analysis of his vocal work. His accent is so thick that you can tell that he struggles with even basic English phrases when speaking or singing in his usual range. I agree with you that if he got some English vocal training from a vocal professional, he would become unstoppable like Ren, and many other performers, are, vocally. He certainly doesn't need any guitar lessons!! I also believe that it was because of The Big Push that he went for a solo career? I don't know this for sure, but IIRC, he really hadn't tried being a solo performer until he met the Boys. I think this means that he's used to others being in performances so he's still learning to train himself to rely on his own skills and talents. Gorgeous and perfect as always Romain! Much peace and love. ^^

Thanks so much. While I'd love to say that I have a career as a jazz musician, it's very short lived and only some remnants of a funk group I started in college survived the pre-cell phone era days. I studied under Kenny for a short while, not long actually. But yes, he stopped in his tracks at the improvement I made lesson to lesson taking to heart and really practicing and he said "Aaron, you a cat!". I will NEVER forget that moment. Email me at aaronreactsyt@gmail.com and I'll see if I can dig up a recording for you of that funk group

My first claim to fame was that Billy Holiday bounced me oh her knee. With the popularity of Laufey, there is a whole new fan base for jazz. I’m hoping to see a whole new generation of jazz artists.

You have to elaborate more on Billie bouncing you off her knee!

@ I don’t remember it, as I was an infant at the time, but my parents were big jazz enthusiasts and were friendly with many greats, like Josh White, Lady Day and Errol Garner. They had a great collection of 78s, which was lost in a Laurel Canyon fire.

I responded to a different reaction just an hour ago - I assume you posted the incorrect version previously (there was a 5 minute gap where we could not hear Romain's video) ? I asked Romain in a live chat who his main musical influence was. I expected him to name a guitarist e.g. Django Reinhardt or some Latin artist. I was surprised when he said Chet Baker, a trumpeter. I guess that tells us everything we need to know. Romain is a musician who appreciates and responds to "feel" (the actual instrument is less important)

Yes, correct...thanks to YOU I became aware and instantly jumped on it, removed that one, corrected, and uploaded this one. So sorry but seriously, THANK YOU

There is some possibility that the vocal coaching that you recommend, and the subsequent change in mindset to start thinking about his singing, could affect the pure spontaneity and vulnerability that gives his music a great deal of its charm and power. Just a thought.

That certainly is possible. But he clearly wants to grow solo and I feel there is much more upside than downside but that's just my personal opinion...good point!
