As a former fitness/strength trainer who just recently had/have 3 neck vertebrae problems i can attest to this, going slowly, getting the best doctor, get a MRI which will almost certainly show what's wrong then proceed from there. Hopefully , no surgery is needed but it possible, if not go to a chiropractor and of course work out, neck, upper body strength training but cautiously , slowly

Check with a chiropractor maybe, Michael? My brother had a car accident years ago (like 40 years ago, eons in the past)... Ever since he's had back problems, same symptoms - lots of pain... The only thing that has helped has been weekly visits to the chiropractor... He's outlived 2 of them so far, and is not in the best of shape right now... But... He's 78 years old, lol... Stress, overworking, taking on too much, and even lack of sleep can all affect that nerve problem... My advice is not only the chiropractor, but also evaluate your diet and lifestyle... Turn down the gears regularly, going slower and enjoying the finer things in life... Whatever that may be for you... You've been jumping over tall buildings in a single bound for awhile, sometimes the legs need a break (this is a figurative paragraph, but you catch my drift I hope).... Love what you're doing, not just watching life, but living it, as Teddy Roosevelt said in his "Man In The Arena " speech so long ago... Cheering you, Kat, and young blood on from afar... Note: These words of advice come from a kid (68 is a kid????) who grew up on the border of Canada. That kid had one foot in Canada (Ontario) and one foot in Vikings, Broncos, Paul Bunyan, territory (International Falls MN)... He knows cold, snow, and pain Ehhh? TC you and family... 🙏🙏🙏 👍😎👍

The downstairs of the house looks great !! Much more friendly environment now. You are in the best place for being cared for. Filipinas pride themselves on being excellent care-takers and its a good thing you are attached to a great filipina now. If it were me - I would drink more gatorade & fresh coconut water for the electrolites. Down a bottle of gatorade as soon as you wakeup. Then coconut water at lunch time and another gatorade an hour before bed. Drink lots if water inbetween. Beer and booze will dehydrate the body so minimize that for now. A real full bidy massage once or twice a week will also help and you have to slow down a little and enjoy life. Get 7 or 8 hours of sleep every night. You can do this and you NEED to do this. Good Luck !!

I’m relived you’re okay. Yes, Please drink 7-8 glasses of water daily..You may want to stay away from anything with caffeine, including colas, or for that matter, sugar. They will stress you and your neck. If anyone teaches Hatha Yoga in your area, it would be ultra helpful. Let the teacher know about your health issues. It’s a really gentle way to start limbering up your body by doing gentle stretches. It helped me so much. Occasionally, I’ve had really painful muscle spasms. Hatha Yoga helps to prevent them, and by example, teaches you how to slow down and calm your racing mind. Many very successful businessmen meditate and do yoga. BTW, I wouldn’t think working out at a gym would be good for you until doing the slow, gentle, yoga movements. Baby Steps Baby. Your Angel is taking wonderful care of you. 💜 You’re lucky to have each other.

You should try to Ice until numbness to reduce the inflammation, and rotate with the heat. The heat will relax the muscle, but the muscle is tightening to protect the the vertebra from moving effectively locking it in place so that it doesn't compress the nerve. The heat will feel good as the muscle relaxes, but the underlying arteries are muscular tubes managing blood pressure. They will relax and more blood/fluid will come into the injured area causing more swelling, which brings on the pain. So, it becomes a vicious cycle. The rotation of the ice will break this cycle. That is why you always see athletes apply ice to injuries.
