Ever tested the mighty Honda S2000 240hp ? Great day driver,a stellar 120 hp/litre power, a little vicious beast offering tons of fun or daily nightmares (it's all about skill and brain). Possibly a bit outdated overall talking, yet it should still be a great buy for the connoisseur.

I love the S2000. When I was shopping for my first ‘track mostly’ car, that car was on my list. The challenge is they are difficult to find with decently low miles for what I wanted to pay.
