In the color scheme the bride is the spring type (and so is the mother, look at the soft orange top). So pastells (incl. that very soft blush tone) suit her very well. For the same reason the third dress suited her fine (it has a yellow tinge, I would call it "pearl"). Bright snowwhite (dress 2, Grandpa's choice) is too hard for her anyway. Also: the cut of the dress suits a very young bride (romantic, princess style) and with her figure she can pull off most dresses. Now - brides tend to wear heavy makeup, so they can stray from their color range. But the blush is in her natural color range and she pulled it off beautifully. She looked like a cinderella with the accessoires, and the hair-do.

It's more about chasity....being a virgin. Which is a stupid religious thing that nobody should follow unless THEY want to. If I even ever get married, I plan on wearing something VERY different. And my mother would be happy for me even if she didn't like it. Because that's what parents should be. Period.

Nope. The reason white became popular was because Queen Victoria wore a white dress. Up until then, any color dress would worn with exception of black and red. White is actually a mourning color in a lot of non-western cultures. White had nothing to do with purity.

I think a lot of mothers see their daughter's wedding as a reflection of themselves and how other people will perceive them and their family. So it starts out as "I just want you to be happy..." and ends with "people will think I'm a horrible mom because my daughter did something unconventional."

I think the camera doesn´t pick the colors very well. If you saw the first and second dress in real life, you will notice that the second one is pure-white, while the first one is indeed pink (and maybe not as bright). And the contrast they make with the skin is very different too. In my case I loved blush on pictures, but it was so bad with my skintone.

I had seafoam green short hair for two years and I can’t tell you how many compliments I got on it. My mom actually didn’t believe me when I told her so I finally went out shopping with her and got half a dozen compliments on it including some guy rolling down his window to shout “I love your hair!”... I don’t have it anymore because it ran so much when I showered (it was only semi permanent dye since that’s less damaging and I could easily change it) but I will go back to it again one day. My mom did like the color on me she just didn’t believe people were just stopping me to compliment it... I couldn’t have cared less because I just love the color but it was nice to have people like my hair for once since I used to get told I’d look better blond with straight hair when I’m naturally a brunette with super curly hair
