The secret room would make a perfect “lady-cave”, with books and a comfy armchair to read in with a cozy blanket and a teapot and tea leaves in a corner ❤❤❤ I’m dreaming here, hehe! 😅 I can already imagine a breezy British autumn afternoon, with a book and a good cup of tea in there!

They’re probably fruit flies. An excellent trap is to find a small container (like a hummus pot, or yogurt pot) and put in half a centimetre of vinegar (malt or apple cider vinegar works well), one drop of washing up liquid to break the surface tension and cover with cling film, then pierce a few small holes in the top. The flies go in through the holes, attracted by the vinegar, and sink because the surface tension is broken. If they try to get out, it’s difficult because they can’t find the holes easily. I’ll regularly catch 30+ flies like this.

The house is really starting to take shape. Love that you have a secret room! I think a sauna is a great idea for it. A pendant with a lot of soft light or ambient light would look great for the upstairs landing. Am enjoying your updates!!

Beautiful things are happening in your new home 🤍 You were smart to call an electrician when it comes to installing so many wires because like you said it’s important to have the house safely wired. Especially an older home. I absolutely love the stain glass windows and the light fixtures you installed💛 The charm of an older home is showing more and more💫✨✨✨ Ps I’m just starting David Baldacci Long Shadows. HIGHLY recommend Twopages curtains. You can order sample books of all the fabrics and patterns. We got cream coloured velvet pinch pleat curtains and matching cordless Roman shades for our bedroom, they look so high end! The velvet fabric doesn’t even need the blackout backing imo (and we got a light fabric colour so I expect it would be even less necessary with a darker colour)
