There were more laughs in these 3 minuets than in any sitcom on TV today. Why must everything be loud, obnoxious, dirty and uncomfortable today. Where is the writing the brought characters to life and into your home.

Mixed feelings about Reginald Perrrin,most of the humour was excellent (I watched it at the age of 9) and other bits less so! Still like CJ though, and Rossiter dying in 1985 was a tragedy!

Chambers Dictionary - de rigueur, adj, required by fashion, custom or the rules of politeness. ETYMOLOGY: 19c: French, meaning 'of strictness'. Hors d'oeuvre, noun (plural hor d'oeuvres or hors d'oeuvres), a savoury appetizer, usually served at the beginning of a meal, to whet the appetite. ETYMOLOGY: 18c: French, literally 'out of the work'.

This show was so lacking in production values, but both great and super in writing, and CJ must have had such a riotous time playing his role ... I loved it when I used to watch it on KQED British Comedy Night in the 1980's. Wonderful show that sadly could not be done in America, at least not true to form or well.
@Dazzler2315 жыл бұрын
Average actor and far too yooung for the role. Not a patch on the original CJ, just like the new version isn't a patch on the original series.
