Yeah I know, it's kind of a cardinal sin to say you don't like a game that has a 90 or higher on Metacritic, but hey! I've changed since then. And this video isn't really just about Hollow Knight (somehow), it's really about a video I wanted to make years ago.

I'm playing it for the first time and I'm currently not loving it.. The tranquil game design and music seem annoyingly juxtaposed to the intense combat experiences. I think the map kinda sucks, you can't zoom in to examine, pins and markers are too large and ambiguous looking (why should using your map be challenging?), I so far haven't found the friendly NPCs to be all that interesting or integral to the experience, there's a distinct lack of puzzles or problem solving, seems like I'm just running around trying desperately to expand the map and not loose geo the entire time.
