I will let you know, every one, before you cannot marriage without arrange from the parents, my parents they get married, with arrangements from their parents, and they stayed till the end, of their life, same also with my brother, he also arranged married from our parents both sides.Till now their together with grandchildren, it's more stronger compared this time, marriage today and divorce after their loves gone, love it can be gone. I married my husband twenty-five years ago. It was an arranged marriage by the Lord. He proposed to me through an interpreter after our second date and to the interpreter surprise I accepted the proposal. We were married two weeks after that and the reason that it took that long was because we had to wait for his legal documents to be able to get married in Colombia to arrive from the United States which is my husband country of origin. I'm American and mixed with three different ethincties. Yes, a movie should be made, but us let us not argue amongst our Christian brothers and sisters (brethren). Years ago, I fell so deeply in love with this man. We dated and broke up and for 7 years, I kept asking God to bring him back into my life. I felt like I wasn’t going to be happy with anyone else but this man that I fell so deeply for. I was hurt, sad, and I kept questioning if God ever heard my prayers. Finally one night, I sat down and finally listened to my heart and that voice inside of my head telling me that God does hear me. I just needed to let go, and let God lead the way because he knew what was best for me. So I prayed and poured my heart out to God one night. This time, I prayed for God to send me the man that was meant to be in my life. A couple of weeks later, God sent me that amazing man. I am still in awe to this day and every single day, I thank God for this wonderful man.

I once heard of a concept called the theory of propinquity. In short, it suggests that people develop affection and bonds simply by being in proximity with each other on a regular basis. I believe it's the reason so many arranged marriages work. Spirituality helps, too, imho!

We did this for the longest time because the previous generations value security more than love. I believe now we're in a more developed age and now know better, i think we should focus more on developing ourselves spiritually, emotionally, mentally etc. I mean... people are complaining they can't find the right person and dating pretty much sucks. Haha i am gonna go deeper here. We shouldn't blame the external circumstances and look at ourselves because I believe that if we only work on ourselves we will be able to find the right person and not just let other people do it for us. Arranged marriages basically avoid the chaos of finding the right person but imho, that's how we grow and able to know ourselves better. I like the challenge and the fact that I cant find my person yet just means i need to work on myself more holistically but to each his own. 😁

So many people cringe at the thought of arranged marriages, but we are surrounded by The Bachelor, Married at First Sight, online dating etc. It's all basically the same! Situations being organised so that people who could be a good match can get together (drama aside haha). Also, arranged marriages are less likely to end in divorce, so points for that.

Rachel Brabham it is very true! I am a living testimony of online dating. We celebrated 12 years in marriage on 12th of August and we are blessed with 3 beautiful daughters. My husband is German and am Ugandan. Yes we have ups and downs but we learnt loving each other and we are still learning to love each even more plus discovering each other. We did a civil wedding and I meant every word I said that day ....on his side he was giving it a try but today he says there is no turning back.
