@@i_love_rescue_animals After 10-plus years of experience, and with Los Angeles city shelters being kill shelters... Eldad has seen this happen all to often. But keep in mind that some owners imagine it's "more humane" to abandon a sick dog on the streets where they hope someone will take him in, rather than surrender him to the city shelter where a death sentence is all but certain.
@anng.45424 жыл бұрын
Rachana Pawar - Abandoned because of his behavior-- blind and snapping, especially if there were kids in the home. Owner unwilling (or didn't know how) to do behavior work, and unable to afford vet care. Ignorant about the no-kill movement and where to go for help. So dumping the dog looked like the easy answer.

You can tell by the behavior, but when you are rescuing the dog you typically don't look for signs like this. The main goal is obviously to secure the dog as quick and stress-free as possible.
@alexanderhamilton43984 жыл бұрын
I could tell that he was blind within seconds of the video starting. He has a very bad glare to his eyes, and an injured dog that could still see most likely would have gotten more aggressive much faster. One big example of this is the rescue of the pit bull who had her leg broken in 3 places but still got up and actually lunged at Eldad when he approached. But, I understand how the different factors (the sun, the highway close by) had influenced Eldad's judgement.

Dumping a wonderful family dog because he’s turning blind when all he needs is just a surgery to correct the issue, it’s just sad. Glad the people who noticed him decided to call Hope for Paws❤️❤️ Love to Dolittle and the whole team ❤️

He’s actually not a poodle, but a pretty decent example of a Bichon Frise. I used to show them. For one to offer to bite shows how very upset and stressed he was. Thanks for rescuing him!

To be blind and alone in a world they don't understand. That's animal cruelty in itself.

Eldad this World desperately needs more humans in it like you, thank you for loving these beautiful animals & showing them that not all humans are bad. You even gently moved that leaf while putting on the gentle snare in case you damaged it. You’re an Earth Angel

Laughing a bit because he keeps saying "Hey, Look!" and "Look!" and I'm like thinking for the dog, "I can't really.. see anything... mysterious human... uh.."
