Ed is a treasure. The men and women of that generation were and still are hard as iron. Matt you should do a series maybe called "Story Time with Ed' and have him tell some of the stories about his life and things. Not many of these guys left and at 40 I am missing hearing them talk about things. Know what I mean?

A guy who live by my great aunt has a Doberman name Poncho that will run 25-30 miles every other day following his Polaris Ranger while he checks his cattle fences and whatnot and his trap lines. If Poncho gets cold or tired, he’ll let him sit in the cab of the Ranger. But only for a bit and then the dog wants back out to run. I bet Ponch is the fittest Dobe east of the Mississippi. The dog looks like Arnold in his prime; he’s ripped! Not an ounce of fat on him.

I agree with Ed, some of these offroad vehicles are just a smidge too long. Maybe you can put yours and your buddy Paul's head together to come up with removable bed extensions of say 8 to 12 inches. Maybe use some 3" square stock that some 2.5" square stock could slide inside of similar to the way the tow hitch receiver works. Then just weld some 1/4' diamond plate on top of the 2.5" square stock. Drill holes so safety pins would secure the extensions. I'm sure that between Paul and yourself it would be an easy modification to the trailer. For that matter, if I remember your son did a lot of the welding on the trailer. It might be a good project for him.

If the Cam Am becomes any longer, all you need to do is somehow fabricate a removal extension piece to attached to the rear or front of the trailer. Maybe the top 1 1/2 foot of the ramp can be detachable with making a support under the extension to the trailer. Might also be easier to make an extension of the front and attach as needed.

Matt! An old tow driver like you KNOWS that hooks always face UP --- just like a J-hook. That way they won't release when the pressure comes off of them and whatever you're towing passes you on the highway! (bt - dt). VWs were especially bad at that on a hook/sling unit. But I learned to always set hooks with the throat facing up.

Perhaps you could build a trailer with a built in length extension and outriggers to extend the sides. The length extension could be one piece that slides out from the trailer and it has built in scotches every six to twelve inches on either side to help secure the tires. To accommodate the outriggers, the length extension would have an adjustable slot along each side, similar to an adjustable wrench, except there would be a lever that lowers the notches to allow sliding in and out.

Hey Matt, carry dish soap and water mix with your trailer. Might help with shoving things around on it.

45degree angled bump stops at the front of the trailer would give a bit of added length and a solid stop without much concern of the 4 wheeler rolling off the front of the trailer.

Nice recovery (this customer sure had a lot on him mind--that he wanted to chat about). Nice day to be out at Sand Hollow.

Love the us of soft shackles. Perhaps it's commonplace in the towing industry but I wasn't aware of it

Love the videos keep them coming!!! FYI using the winch as a tie down is not safe at all!!! Since you are operating in a commercial capacity and are regulated by DOT you should have that ATV tied down at 4 points!!! O would hate to see u get a ticket!!!
