People don't upgrade ram. It's been proven. The only time is happens in any appreciable amount is when someone buys the lower model, and more RAM at the same time, and immediately installed it. To save the $300 to go from the 8 gig to the 16 gig model, they buy 8 gig model and $120 worth of ram at the same time, and save $150. Other than that, people aren't upgrading ram down the road. This is the same as the comment about adding display in for AIO computers, so they can be used as monitors after that. The same as the tiny group of people that want sports cars and supercars to have manual transmissions. That tiny group of people are statistically irrelevant. Most of the time the vocal ones aren't even in the market for a supercar, so their opinion is even more irrelevant. Same goes for the ram and monitors. The vocal people are generally enthusiasts who would never buy an AIO anyways. So they would never be in the situation to use it as a standalone monitor anyways.

In my experience, I wouldn’t diss the wireless charger on the computer. Reason being ever since I bought my iPhone 13, I noticed my old wireless chargers do not work with the iPhone. @Underskore2 жыл бұрын
that'd be why, qi charging works off of magnetism.
@littlejackalo53262 жыл бұрын
It's because Apple disabled support for low powered qi chargers. New iphones with magsafe magnets use the same exact technology as every other qi phone and dock. The magnets have nothing to do with the qi coil. They did the same with the apple watch.

This is a good AIO and some of the features it has is cool (like that auto-rotating camera, the I/O in the stand, and the wireless charger built into the base of the stand), but Anthony saying stuff like "Apple used to care" is just toxic misinformation. He can criticize the SSD being soldered in in Macs, but there's a solid reason why Apple used soldered in memory in M1 Macs. The reason is they're using much faster and much more power efficient LPDDR memory. The LPDDR5 memory Apple uses in the new MacBooks and the Mac Studio runs at 6400MT/s, as fast as overclocked and much more power hungry DDR5. They can do that only because the memory is soldered in (not to mention in the same SoC package), so they can control the signal flow and integrity much better.

The number of people remarking on how other companies are copying the built-in webcam on the Studio Display is hilarious. First, this is an all-in-one desktop, not a monitor. It’s common for AIOs to have webcams. Second, the Samsung S4 monitor has a webcam and was launched in September 2021, before the Studio Display. And *before that* in January, Dell launched a series of monitors with built-in cameras. Both companies were targeting the WFH audience that ballooned all of a sudden… for some reason. The last Apple monitor with a webcam before that (Thunderbolt Display) was launched in 2011 and discontinued in 2016. But sure, whatever you say.

This is the best episode of ShortCircuit I have ever seen. Having Anthony host, lots of guests pop in, and taking it very lightheartedly.

In recent months, Anthony has soared to new heights of hosting. He’s always been really clear and has a great way of explaining very technical principles, but his persona and charisma has reached new levels of excellence. I always enjoy his videos. Well done my man!
@utubekullanicisi2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, so much excellence in his Persona in fact, that he's saying stuff like "Apple used to care" to only spread toxic misinformation. He can criticize the SSD being soldered in in Macs, but there's a reason Apple uses soldered in memory in M1 Macs.

I'd say he's a good host however you need to back off a little bit, there's nothing special in this video. Actually, there's loads of annoying rants that it's just leading the pace of the video, and that's not great hosting. Is him even being that brilliant or changing our lives as he elaborate? No. Honestly you guys seem like you're all under his balls, it reeks as virtue signaling.

@@rogerklk Agreed. It's the new hive mind opinion so now every comment is smoking his schlong. He's average at best. He's knowledgeable, but he has zero charisma.

Using the display as a digital ring light is actually really smart.

On snapchat if you take a picture with your front camera and flash on, the screen acts as a flash. Same concept and should be used more often

@@MrMW2nd Yes of course, same on iPhone, but I've never seen it applied to a full size display.

This thing looks super impressive, the IO was super well designed, the webcam is really smart as well. From the thumbnail I didn't get why it wasn't build in, but it absolutely makes sense. I agree with Anthony, I wouldn't buy it for myself, but this is something I would recommend to someone who wants and AIO and has enough money to buy it.

I am loving other hosts just casually entering the video and having some inputs. Adds more to the video.

Like Apple? Man, that keyboard is much much much closer to a Surface keyboard. Other than that, thank you for the review

Fun and objective Anthony always has entertaining reviews, and for what actually seems like a pretty good product. If it had the option for a display input, I think I would actually be 90% behind this product. Also if it had a similar system to that one kind of Dell all-in-one where all the components were in a swappable part on the stand, then I think it would be actually phenomenal. I would love an AIO for work that could upgrade components in that way.

The Dell aio with the computer in the stand is good for upgrade, but it's too small to handle the cooling of a big desktop cpu + a quite strong gpu

Now sell this as a standalone display with GLOSSY finish and GOOD speakers and I am gonna throw money at it.

HP is making some decent things lately. I bought two sets of the hp v10 ddr4 memory, it's Samsung die, with 14-14-14 timings. Works great with my old Ryzen 7 2700x, and now with my Ryzen 9 5900x.

So in a dark room with a triple monitor set up, open Wikipedia or some website that’s predominantly white on both ~350nit side monitors and it actually gives pretty nice soft lighting for a zoom call. With this being a ring light and like 500 nits, I imagine in similar conditions it would actually be pretty effective - if it works with zoom/teams whatever and it also might be super annoying in that scenario as it takes up a lot of your screen. Cool idea though!

This could be a great media center for a small apartment. Hook it up to a pair of decent speakers, upgrade to a few TB for audio and video-storage and you've got yourself a pretty nice and quiet computer that you can also play (slightly older) games with.

You had my attention with the ports in the stand, and now hearing "4K Ultrawide" has my undivided attention. I love my 1440p Ultrawide (3440x1440) but DAMN. Unfortunately, this thing matches my HP OMEN 25L for specs (though I have a desktop 3060), and mine can comfortably power my monitor... doubt it for that one.
