I Died Today by Dukey Roberts

I had to do this to my best friend, my little Jack two days ago. I laid my head against hers to share our breath and I told her that she was going ahead to our Beach where I would join her and we would play in the sand. She snuggled up and closed her eyes and sighed a deep peaceful sigh and then left. My heart is broken, my days are empty and its a huge struggle but she had such a great life, full of adventures so I have to think happily of her running down the Beach. God bless our little ones.

Had to put down my beautiful baby boy last Saturday. It's awful to come home to see his black fur and spirit everywhere, but he is not here. He was only 4 years old and in so much pain, saying "Ok." was the most terrible decision I've ever had to make. How do you grieve the loss of your furry soul mate? I have this pumping ache on my chest... It hurts so much. I will love you forever, Thor, thank you for bringing me happiness when I couldn't even face the world.

Beautiful video. Reminded me of a few months back when my rescue Dobe went peacefully, aged 12.5 yrs. On her last day she ate the prized blueberries off my miniature tree, finished the ham off in the fridge, garden barriers were taken down and she was allowed to chase the lizards. She even made an attempt to take herself on a walk, staggering down the path. She chose to suddenly get mouth cancer 4 days into my o/s holiday,but she didn't know I had already made plans in place just in case...... She wasn't alone that day. My sister and son spent the day with her. She was lavished in attention, videos, photographed and loved. Her red coat was put on she was visited by a familiar face. She fell asleep on her bed. Even while sedated, she lifted her head to spy a lizard running past. Made the vet laugh. Such a fitting way for a rescue dog to die. Happy till the end.....

So heartbreakingly sad. Two seconds into the video and I start crying like a baby. You think that you are changing your pets life, but no, no, no your pet is FOREVER changing your life. Beautiful video. RIP Duke. For He is now in God's care, free of pain, eating endless amounts of cheeseburgers, playing and roaming freely in God's Heavenly Kingdom and chasing after some tail. lol! It kills me knowing that my dog is 14 now and he has cancer and arthritis and I've had him all my life and I can't imagine life without him but if I've learned one thing it's that u have to treat everyday special because u never know what could happen. It makes my day when I come home from school and run to his bed to pet him because no matter how hard my day was I know he makes it a million times better.

I have a black lab named Lola too. I’m just gonna break when she’s gone, as she’s the only pet I’ve ever had that, upon meeting, had been old enough to develop an emotional attachment to. I got her before I started 6th grade when she was only 2 months old, and she’s gonna be turning 6 in a week or two. I know she’s got a lot of life left in her, but i know the day’s gonna come. I love her so much.

hank you so much for sharing .I too had to call the family over to say goodbye to Dukey my Black Lab. We had 12 special years together growing up on a 57 acre farm. At least he was laid to rest on the land he roamed and played. He was never on a leash and had a warm home every day and night to sleep in, often times next to my bed when he wasn;t in his favorite spot. God give us these special hearts with fur, bur we all know God will say one day " I need him back. I'm sending him to another place on Earth to spread more joy and love."

The video was wonderful but, also heartbreaking. I'm a 68-year-old male who had to walk my best friend over the "Rainbow Bridge", that was four years ago and I'm still grieving, I know what you went through. I've been told the sooner I get another dog the sooner I'll get over the pain but I'm not getting another dog, I don't know how long I'll be able to care for him/her. I never got to greive for my brother Dan when he passed away on New Years day because I was to busy taking care of another brother at the time. My brother Dan loved all living things, plants as well . I just know he would have loved this. I broke down and cried for my brother and this wonderful dog when I saw this video. It felt so good to release all my pain. I can never thank you enough. My brother had a tumor as well and that is what took him from me.

I wish my dog had a last day like this, the vet said he could make it but he died alone and I miss him everyday, he was the cutest and I just loved me even if he wasn’t pure he was just so sweet. My dad found him and I’ve never seen my dad so sad, he genuinely was heartbroken.

This made me cry so hard because my dog was diagnosed with lung cancer last year. He was 12 but was doing just fine. I am dreading the day that he will leave us, we don’t have any idea how long he will be around for. He is still happy and has a smile whenever we go for runs but we know he may not have much longer😭

The torment of watching my 14 1/2 yr old...baby boy.. puppy heart.. deteriorate and not be able to make him well.. due to low income . i couldnt get a ride to take him to vet... ... it was going on day four of not eating .. i tried to not cry in front of him. so id cry while out for a walk.... 5 minutes before he passed.. i caught him staring at me.. a tired..confused look.. but i can see the love in my dogs eyes... I told him " its ok..baby boy..you can go to sleep now.. go to sleep ..my precious".. as soon as i turnned loghts off.. he began trying to cough and let a a " RRAWHHRR" ....and then silence.... until II knew it really happened and ... the only comfort is that..I had wondered if and hoped there was a place in heaven for my dog... well he passed on the 4 year anniversary of when My Grandmother had left this world.. so im choosing to believe that he is at my grandmother' s side.. in heaven.. r.i.p. Just remember love never dies. Our precious pets were given to us for just a short while and we loved them unconditionally. They to showed us love everyday in their loyalty and now they are at rest. One day when we stand before Jesus and will be reunited with our loved ones and our precious pets never to be separated again….oh what a day!

heartbreaking.... jsut lost my last two companions from cancer with in 6 months of each other...the loss of my companion animals has always hurt me so much deeper than the loss of people I have known... it is the way I am hard wired... been that way since my childhood... now all I ask is that when my time comes, if there is , in fact, a place we go after, then I want to go where all my dogs went.. otherwise, I reall y dont care to go anywhere at all...

This breaks my heart again ... I did nothing but cry 2 weeks leading up to my dogs euthanasia... I kept putting it off ... my dog was my world and he truly was the only soul in the world who loved me unconditionally...I feel grief as I watch this because I tried so hard to be ok for him leading up to his death. My dog died a week ago, she died in my arms, it wasn't nice as we both were fighting for her life, sadly she lost the battle and her heart stopped, God knows how hard I tried, but I lost her. I guess I'm grateful that I didn't have to take that decision. But it is hard, so hard to lose your baby.

this made me cry because my dog's last day on earth wasn't special at all. just another day and I didn't even know she was going to get out chev. I thought it was just about ear checkup

Today (12/13/2017) my good boy Cody crossed the Rainbow Bridge to be with Loopy who left in 2013. Sadly Cody couldn't have a day like that. He had liver tumor/cancer and just gave up the last few days. It was very sudden. He was fine and playing on Saturday and Sunday he had problems and today is Wednesday. Refused any kind of food, even favorites. He was so weak at the end I had to carry him in and out of the house and one of the vet techs carried him in. He was so weak the drug was almost instantaneous and he never had any bad response. His eyes just dimmed and that was it. My sister, his first mom, was able to be there with me at the end and was very helpful to have a shoulder to cry on. She gave me Cody and Loopy in 2010, though I could have had them sooner...my biggest regret. After Loopy left I got Koda from a shelter. We're going to have to get through this together. I'd guess I'll get a new friend for Koda one day but for now it's just the two of us, as it was for me and Cody after Loopy. My Cody, My Cody, My Cody and Me!
