Thank you for that Boudy.That is the best description of this moment that I have heard. I was sensing the same thing but had not given myself permission to actually celebrate that possibility. I have been on this journey for over 5 years dreaming of this moment. Knowing she deserved it. Know and believing that it would happen. It had to happen. I was just never hopeful it could be this soon. Angelina has been on some of the biggest stages in the world. Literally and each time I was hopeful. And then... Nothing seemed to happen. Nothing changed. I do believe this is different. Also that explanation of the Piano Diaries and description of who Toby Gad is and how big he really is was even more revealing and totally supports that we are finally on the precipice of that momentous moment in Angelina's journey that launches her into the stratosphere and puts her on the stage with all the greatest artists in music history. I believe when all is said and done and long after I'm gone no artist will have 'SURPASSED' her in her talent and place on that stage. That includes the likes of Evis, Billie Holiday, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Michael Jackson and on and on... No one will have had a 'bigger or better' career. 'I' believe that. Everyone will have their favorite and I'm sure there is no doubt who mine is. Angelina is coming like a freight train and I believe it is happening now and we are watching it right in front of our face. Whether we recognize it or not. We are witness to unparalleled Music History as Angelina takes her place among the Greatest of All Time. The Barefoot Princess is soon to become the Queen. Sorry she's still close to Princess for me. Totally agree. It will be tough, if you started now to try to write her biography. If you started now, it would take way over a year to compile all her works and put it into less than three hour version… 18 years old, it would take a couple volumes, justify her career at this point. Not only did Toby Gad chose Angelina to perform this song he is also the pianist in this video and in a performance at the Palladium Theatre in London (which is also on KZbin). In addition to that he has told that he and Angelina are working together at more songs. So I am sure: more wonderful music at the horizon.... After listening the "pop version"I am very sure they used the same recording from Angelina's voice but with other instrumentals. And it sounds very different, again very good.

Yeah, 2nd version is known, and we were somewhat surprised that there is no video for that one released yet, as snippets of one were also shown on their socials. There she is walking in a hoodie near Brick Lane in London. On KZbin the Piano Diaries version is far ahead, on Spotify it's only a 2:1 split of listens. PS: the music video for that 2nd version has now been announced for today, June 4th, by Toby. And it's announced as premiere on Angelina Jordan Official for 6am PDT, 9am EDT, 3pm CEST!

Boudy, this is a glorious cover & as you say it is perfect in every way. Thanks to Toby Gad for asking AJ to sing this for his Piano Diaries album. They will create some amazing music together. What a great opportunity for AJ instigated by the total respect she has in the music industry. The best thing about this song for me is that because it is leaning towards middle ground it will expose AJ to a younger audience. After 16 years of practice Angelina has arrived! Seems no one mentions the violin because it’s not visible in the video, but I’m pretty sure I hear Angelina, the piano, the cello, and a violin. The violin was present when they performed this song in the Los Angeles club the week before heading to London, where this was performed at the London Palladium with just a piano and cello; and the video was recorded in the London church.

I've got a feeling this was how Toby Gad wanted this song to be sung all along and didn't know it until he heard Angelina sing. I'll also bet that Angelina had a huge hand in the arrangement to his delight. It's the most moving piece of music I've heard this year. Nice reaction Boudy! By the way, Toby was the co-writer of this song. The other co-writer is BC Jean, a singer/songwriter herself. Toby and BC were working on writing songs when BC wanted to take a break so they stopped and went out for pizza. during their walk, BC brought up that she just recently broke up with the man that she loved. She told Toby if she were a boy, she would do things better than a man. Toby stopped and said, "Wait, what did you say? If i were a boy? That sounds like a song." Both turned back around and went back to work off that line and put together the song. BC was the first to actually sing the song. It wasn't until later that they played the song for Beyonce and she wanted to sing the song and the rest is history. The next song that will come out for them is called Bad Valentine, and that one is an original. It's not officially released yet, but they debuted the song at a small special event they did in L.A. All I can say is OMG. I cannot wait for you to hear it! Angelina actually told her fans that she and Toby have been working for a while now working on new original music. We were like WHAT??? Oh, like you figured out, there are 2 versions out right now, The Piano Diaries version and The Artist version. We did find out after a few of her Angels (myself included) asked Toby if there were 2 versions because the video teasers they were putting out looked and sounded very different from one another. The Artist version does have a music video as well, but it has not been released yet. We fans are eagerly awaiting for that one.....

This is not one of my favorite songs, but there is immediately the Angelina effect where you become immersed in the lyrics because Angelina brings them to life. She is more than the singer-she takes on the identity of the song. We feel, not just hear, the lyrics because Angelina becomes both the singer and the girl who has lived through this experience.
