I got that DD prompt for the first time this week. I think it's for bad customers reporting missing/incorrect food, causing us more work so DD doesn't have to lose an account

I started getting order confirmation photos a lot more recently (both as a driver and as a customer). As a driver I like that, if you're doing a stacked order, right before you drop off an order the app shows you the photo of the order you have to drop off. I don't need it but I do like the reassurance that I'm holding the right bag. As a customer, it's kind of weird. I'm probably getting that because I report missing stuff from orders fairly often for refunds. That was usually with orders like McDonalds or Wendys, who seal their food bags. So if food is missing inside the bag, this feature won't fix that. Though, as a drivers, it's kind of nice that I have photo evidence of not tampering with the bag and shouldn't hurt my rating. I just wish we didn't need these features in the first place.

I always find the days around the 1st of the month to be a bit slower. Rent or mortgage is often due, so folks aren't ordering as much.

I made the mistake at the 1st of the month once. The 1st landed on a Friday. DoorDash took me to that part of town where the welfare checks come in on the 1st. Omg. There was literally a party in the streets. People ordering large Taco Bell and liquor and not tipping, took me 30 mins to navigate my way thru on just ONE order. I’ll never do that again 😅

I love the suggestion of keeping napkins. I have a glove box full of straws from every imaginable restaurant in my area. They have come in handy many times.

I've had that prompt for awhile. I like it to protect me from customers saying they did not receive their food then getting a contract violation. I was getting fake violations from BS customers a couple years ago quite a bit. None of them stuck, but I haven't had any issues ever since this new feature started for me sometime last year.

I find that when I have to take pictures before it's to fast food places that constantly make mistakes. But sometimes it's random and sometimes it doesn't happen at all.

that picture of the receipt started popping up for me in early august. Its random. it also has you 'confirm' the order as the one you are delivering at that step. even if its only ONE order not two.. lol. i think its because of problem customers

another weird one is every so often i get one where at drop off a customer (not an alcohol order) has to take my phone and type out their name in one box. and then sign their name in another. happened 3x in the last month.

I quit DD due to not being able to sign on. Use tone a Top Dasher but now need to schedule. Doesn't work for me. Did it for 4 years. Maybe I'll check the app once on a while and maybe things will get better.

It's all trash lately. For over 4 years I was always a Top Dasher and Platinum Driver. Down to Gold. They are sending me trash and it takes forever to get the first offer. They have oversaturated the market. It really pisses me off due to the fact that I was one of the first drivers in my market. My days of $200 are gone. I'm doing business with DeliverThat and Dlivd. Much better money and less wear and tear for my car. And I don't spend the whole time cursing. Taking pictures of receipts and prompts about how to pick fruit is for all the idiots that are out there. I'm tired of not being appreciated for my efforts to make sure that the customer is happy.

I do DD, dilvrd and deliver that. I gave up on UE bc the offers they give me are horrible. I get more deliverthat offers than dilvrd, but I just did order # 6 for deliverthat. 😁 Hoping to get to the prescheduled tier.
