I Discovered a SECRET use with the CRUSHING WHEELS on Create Superflat Survival!

I was browsing the other day over on the Curseforge app for a modpack that pretty much just utilized the Create mod in the 1.20 update, all in a Superflat world environment on Minecraft.
Little to my knowledge no such thing actually existed…
So I took it upon myself to go ahead and Create(get it) my very own modpack for me to play around on.
Once again, I'm gonna tackle the Superflat world challenge!

2 BIG tips for doing this much easier: 1. To get a mob through a nether portal just run through the nether portal and the mob should hopefully run after you and go through by itself. 2. To get a mob to go into the crushing wheels just build a little corridor with dirt and place a trapdoor above your crushing wheels because mob pathfinding works in a way that mobs think that the trapdoor is a full block and they can just walk over it. So just lure the mob into that corridor and you yourself jump over the trapdoor and the mob should fall in. Can't wait for the next episode!

some tips: - mobs think they can walk over trapdoors, even when they are open. you can get them into a hole by making them walk over an open trapdoor and falling in. - (side note) they also think they can walk through trapdoors. you can use that for things like making a wall that mobs think they can get through so will just get stuck standing by the wall. - a way to get the wither skeleton through the portal, i believe, would just be to run through the portal and let it follow you. players have to stand in a portal for a while to go through, but mobs go through instantly, so if you run through the portal without getting teleported it should teleport the wither skeleton when it follows you. - 10:53 villagers dont pick a work station if they know they have no way of getting to it, so if you just blocked that brewing stand off with a bunch of dirt the villager wouldn't have taken it as a job

This only happened because you lack normal minecraft knowledge... Mobs register trapdoors as full blocks, you should've put a trapdoor on the hole and it would go right in... You can also run through the portal, and the skeleton will follow you trough without you going to the overworld...

Ive been playing the pack and have been doing a lot of afking for money. Not to skip out and just buy creative items but to keep expanding. This is my first time playing on a super flat world so getting used to it with a custom made pack for it has been a lot of fun!

Hey DRP and comment section! Back with a second comment :D So i started workint on automation for copper, gold, zinc ect. Ran into a problem that i may have found a solution for: moving the items after being mined. The main issue was the gen itself. Since the gen needs the sheet block under it, you cant run belts. And funnels dont qork since they can be water logged and mess up the generator. I might have found a solution using water logged stairs and encased fans to move the items. My design isnt lossless as the main and pretty much only goal was to automate it, item loss wasnt a big deal. So, time for the details: a standard cobble gen is water and flowing lava coming in to contact with each other. The sheet block prevents item movement from beneath and water logging the drills makes a regular cobble gen since the water flows faster than the lava, turning it to stone instead of the desired resource. Solution: stairs (havent tested with other water logging blocks as this was the first thing to come to mind but thinking back on it, leaves might work just as well.) What I ended up doing is placing the water logged stairs above the block where the resource will generate and having the lava encased in framed glass except facing the drill so it can flow. By the time the lava ticks and starts to flow, it "comes in contact" with the water logged stair and creates the resource. The drill then breaks it and at one end of the generator, a fan blows it on to a belt. My design has it setup with 4 generators in a row with the fan on the end blowing the items on a belt. This is where the item loss can come in. If the resource generates before the fan blows it on to the belt, it gets launched randomly. For me personally, its not the end of the world. I catch it spewing blocks every now and then. I have the drill speed set to 96rpm and the fan speed maxxed at 256 iirc. I mirrored the gen on the other side and have a dedicated belt > crushing wheel for each slice with blocks in the middle to catch any thay dont hit the belts. I cant say how much this generates an hour but with one system, i got ahout 10k copper incredibly fast, my estimate is about 2 hours but i cant say for sure. If anyone wants the design I can share it if theres a safe way for me to. I also set it up to catch the drops from the wheels on to a depot that get funneled either in to an item vault (crushed ore) or on a different belt straight in to a compacting drawer (nuggets). Going the washint route also gives the byproducts like clay from copper which sits on the same belt as the ore and goes in to a compacting drawer at the end.

TLDR: water logged stairs or leaves above gen, fan to blow items, crushing wheel > item vault > washing > compacting drawer or straight compacting drawer if it's a nugget.

Also last thing, you can use a fishing rod ( spiders for string) to pull a boat with a mob in it on land

Also while I'm not 100 sure, make a world some time and test by adding a passive mod ( it blocks) might stop the attack range of the wither ( won't work for ranged mobs as they'll hit the other mob in the boat) or any other melee mob

Lastly , using the trap door method you did for the drowned farm , you can stand on a 2 block tall wall at the top of the crusher, and have them fall through the trap door into the hole

I know how easy it is to forget about stuff in the heat of a challenge. You are the main reason that I know how to trap mobs, so I’m going to give you a pass on this one. In the future though, prepare in advance for these types of encounters. You could have built a portal over a platform to push him in, or any number of other things. I don’t think I would have made it as far as you did though. I hate wither skellies. 😂😂😂

I would have set up a couple of trap doors that were open while having blocks on either side of the hole to the grinder in order to force path finding over the trap. One trap door might work, but I would use two just in case. The second trap door could even be triggered by a pressure plate or by you clicking it quickly.

Honestly, this series didn't hinge on you playing Hardcore Mode, so I think you are totally in the right for continuing it. Especially since you did show the death happening - others would've just cut out that failed attempt as if nothing happened. That said, I do think that going forward, you should not be in Hardcore Mode anymore. You can still lock the difficulty, but those stripes on your hearts need to go.

Hello! I have become stupidly obsessed with this pack and have put in over 200 in game days into it! To make speeding up things easier with cogwheels, you can encase one. Ie, large into small, another large one attached via the actual shaft part of the cog, and then click the first large cog with andesite casing so youre able to place a small one on it. This prevents the cogs from breaking because they're going in opposite directions!

I don't think you understand this but KZbin people don't care about "hardcore". We watch for the cool mod-pack and you, not some tag that says you never died. You could swap the series to a survival one instead of staying hardcore, or add a hardcore lives mod. - You can also nbt edit the world data file to say it's not hardcore

Make an iron sheet block and generator iron that way for the iron needed, instead of using brass on the crafters make a brass sheet block and make zinc automated. Both in a cobble gen, then for the andesite use a soul fire on a fan with amethyst crystals for the quarts. You can buy budding amethyst block from the shop. It makes early game brass good and early game andesite alloy. Spend money to make money y’know, then the crushing wheel would be easy

Dan you should have just made a conveyor belt leading to the crushing wheels. That way when it walked on it goes into the crushing wheels. GG though as it took me forever as well to lure one to the base

would be nice in the mod pack to be able to sell Mechanisms and engines as it takes an assembly line to make it and it would make it more rewarding to making that assembly line as some of these components are limited use. You only need 1 steam engine for the jet pack after all.

maybe i'm crazy, but why can't you just stand in the portal and let the wither skelly run to you? he should portal as soon as he touches it, while you take a few seconds. also, trap doors have this secret function as... trap doors. mobs think it's a full block and walk straight off the edge. or, make the crushing wheel horizontal with a belt feeding in, and get the skelly to pass by the belt. if it's moving very quickly, they can't resist the movement.

I’m really enjoying it but I would like to know if there’s something better then flint to sell, flint farming is good and all but another farm would be helpful and broaden my knowledge on create. You can automate many things like: - sugar, which doesn't sell for a lot but is easy to automate - flint, which is probably the best for early game - iron/gold/copper, which out of all of these iron is the best if you have access to crushing wheels - and you can also make mob farms with spawners that have any mob in them, just look what mob drop sells for the most amount of money and customizing spawners with the spawner key can make more mobs spawn more frequently Hope that helps

Hey so- I decided to start playing this modpack with my friend. JEI is super buggy and upon relaunching the game each time something is missing from create. Like I couldn't see andesite funnels/tunnels even existing, or millstones. To JEI they didn't exist. Then when I relaunched it even more items were missing. Idk what's causing this

Now who didn't see that coming lol! Dan, considering you play in hardcore most of the time you take so many unnecessary risks! You're clearly highly skilled at the game so are able to get yourself out of trouble most of the time but taking so many risks always gets you eventually. As other's here have pointed out, there are quite a few ways to tackle the wither skele problem but somehow you chose to do it the unsafe way. Personally I'd have built a crushing set-up in the nether and used the corridor/trap door method but you could be even safer if you use a minecart/powered rails to move the mob into the crusher. I'm glad you decided to cheat though, it's way too early for you to abandon this series.

You are not a CHEATER. Probably wouldn't be if you weren't playing the game in Hardcore. Nice to see that you aren't dropping this after one simple death. However, the amount of times of me screaming "Use a trap door" when you were trying to eliminate the wither skeleton. Or when you failed to realize that by just walking through the nether portal, you wouldn't teleport to the other world but the wither skeleton would follow only to teleport through instead.

Also, there is a mod that would've made your villager trade cycling much easier. Instead of breaking the lectern every time, you get a button to cycle his trades for free until you lock them in

My only frustration with the pack so far, has been the JEI(I think that’s what it’s called, it’s the menu with crafting recipes on the right side) not having all the recipes. I’ve run into a few of the create recipes that aren’t in the menu and I’ve had to look up the recipe. Otherwise, it’s a great pack that I’ve been enjoying. Still trying to work out the biomass farm, since I also need a few other farms in order to really turn out the money.

One thing I do wish for this modpack is maybe having the crafting on a stick, so it won’t be a bit a of a trip to go back to a table to make something you needed one more of, though that’s just my opinion Sadly however, I do believe because you died, you may not be able to load new chunks (from what I’ve remembered years ago *CHEATER TEXT APPEARS*)

You can load new chunks, and if you really need to craft one more of what you need just carry some crafting tables or wood in your backpack. That's how i deal with it.
