Just bought a white 640d gran coupe. All the options bar the front cameras (bit of a pain when the front of the car is usually in a different time zone), and lane assist (couldn't care less about that one). I didn't need a new car at all, and I'm still getting the "look" from our lass for doing such a terrible thing... But, it's a bloody amazing car. I saw it at a little car sales lot, and just had to have it, after a test drive. I keep looking at it out of the window, and need to force myself not to keep taking it out on yet another pointless drive. Also, I'm on here watching videos on them too 🤣. The only real negative about it is it's so big, I'm constantly nervous of others when they get a bit close, especially on some of the tight lanes we have around here.

Great vid. I have had my 640d for nearly two years now and I still love it. Mine is coming up to the 65k mark soon so will look at getting the gearbox service done. The extra cameras are the only option missing from mine apart from lane assist. The cameras would be very handy for pulling out of tight junctions. The comfort seats are just that. You can get out after driving for 4-5 hours and you get out feeling as fresh as when you set off. Amazing car.

There will be more controls for the electronic adjustment and the headrests will have the same fold out bits on the sides like you get on some aeroplane seats.

M6 for 12-13K? Sounds like a wreck at that price unless it's the previous gen. You need to spend at least 25k to get a half decent one. Take into account that if it's cheap and not looked after, all of them have been thrashed so that's going to take a massive toll on the car

Great vid, I am thinking about getting this car, or an A7, but I love the interior of the 640d. My budget is around £25K so hoping to get a 2017 one with 40-50K miles. I know it's been discontinued for a few years now, but I was wondering how long BWM will keep servicing the car and being able to get parts? I will also need to ask BMW if they will allow a 6 series on their service plan.

There will be parts around for these cars for years to come! Don’t worry about that, they share most bits with the 5 series Just get one, you know you want to 🤣

You can normally get good parts for beemers for at least 20 years. 20-30 years body panels will become scarce. Over 30 years general parts will become rare and some may be discontinued.

I had a 640d GC 2013 model. Lovely cars. They look beautiful. Shame the pre 2015 models are not ULEZ compliant. The engines are epic and CO2 is very low so its ridiculous

Nice informative video mate. Not hating but isn’t the point of keyless start being that you don’t need to take the key out of your pocket? Rendering the presence of a key slot kind of unnecessary. That’s always the way I’ve seen it.

Thank you! I see your point but disagree 😂 you still need to use the key physically to unlock the car and I find things like keys uncomfortable in my jeans pocket while driving/sitting. The 5 series is the exact same set up with unlocking and start button but has the slot. I just don’t know why they didn’t bother putting it in a 6

@@RobBeveridgeCars well… I was waiting until I picked up my 640d before replying because I’ve never had a keyless start without keyless entry. Got it a few days ago and I have to agree with you, although that little “pointless” compartment by the the shifter works great for storage, can’t figure out what else it could be used for! I sold my 2019 C43 AMG and this is the replacement, 1000% a better car in my opinion (value for money in mind).

Hey, what's your opinion on a 640d grand coupe 2013 year that has 235 000 km or about 140,000 miles, but it has changed chain, restored turbine and fully serviced, but I don't really know anything about gearbox. And yeah one of most informative videos about 640d grand coupe I have seen!!!

I would say find out more info 🤣 if it’s a really good price then maybe go for it but be aware of the risk, if it’s not cheap find another, if you do buy it just get the gearbox serviced

When I had my 1 series with keyless start I just put me key in me pocket? Or left it in me pocket I should say. I would just put me hand in me pocket and press the fob while in the pocket

Concerning the remap I would purely go off your service history, if it’s good and the car seems solid go for it, you won’t be loosing any warranties at 120k 🤣 If you want to ditch the run flats assuming you still have them then go for the Michelin pilot sport 4 S. By far not the cheapest but you do get what you pay for, they never let me down and kept the car in line on the Nurburgring Good luck ❤️

@@jamiehouten911 Don't know how many are in the UK but the United States only gets a few. You don't see very many Alpina B6 or B7 here in the states. They don't make the 6 series any more so eventulally we might see the Alpina B8 .

I would say so but if you can afford a slightly newer one I would personally, some have the old steering wheel and some the new and the more recent models had adaptive lights and digital dashboard but I absolutely loved my 2013 model! Just do your research and check the history 😁
