I am 28. I've had my share of encounters with death, like anyone I guess. Fear of death has always followed me. Fear of not having mattered, of being pointless and forgotten. When I set out to find comforting words in the middle of the night, to calm this fear that has -once again- reared its ugly head, I struggled to find a voice who's answers did not immediately turn to religious belief. Of any kind. Belief, to me, would not be an answer. So I must thank you for this. I can go back to bed now.

If you think about it, the very fact that you've made this video, you've taken his thoughts, ideas, words, his very essence, and allowed it to live. We exist in the minds and memories of the people and things we leave behind. We never die, we simply stop creating. The mere fact that we celebrate our deaths with funerals, rather than being left to rot in place or shoveled into a mass burial shows that we never truely die, we simply become things of memory.

+Dragon377 Pretty sure he passed away. All of his accounts have been silent as long as he's been inactive -- and he was going strong until he suddenly just stopped. Either he decided to randomly just run away and never touch the internet again. Or more reasonably, he took immediately ill, or just suddenly died. Tis' life. Just be happy we have this, I guess.

Well done sir. U have made me think a bit on things though my main difference I died a steadfast atheist and after how long plus barely having one or two faint beats per minute after coming back and spending all night without any detectable breath then coming to two days later in icu.... knowing none of that and this not having been my first overdose where time disappeared. I woke up the first thing I did was scold them for bringing me back. Plenty more overdoses and hospital icu stays but never was I pulse and breath free again and never did I experience what I did again before I knew I had even died. All that said I never feel fear now..... not even when I jump out of a plane or have a stranger pointing a gun at me. Death has been calling and beckoning me ever since it happened to me almost 20 yrs ago....... I really look forward to it and wish it came right now. I however have saved many peoples life's since then,,,, some total strangers some who I disliked a lot. Putting my life on the line to save theirs..... I believe love is a natural force from attraction in physics. Because kindness is my moral and love and floating euphoria is what I felt at death and the stored negative energy was discharged when my flesh died. I'm the nucleus without much ability to think but I felt the misery and pain gone like excess valence electrons leaving me floating and feeling great but barely conscious. I didn't know I was there till I woke up. Anyway, good stuff....thank u

He never understood video games. He didn't say they weren't art. He was saying they aren't art the way that books, paintings, and movies are art. The difference is the player control. In video games, you can die in a part where your character doesn't actually die, and it is immersion breaking. There are video games that build character and have conflict and exposition the same way that movies do, but it just isn't the same.

That is comforting! My grandpa has early stage cancer and sometimes talks about death, and me and him agre that it is not so bad, it's natural order. I sometimes think about suicide and why it is wrong. I think suicide is sad, not wrong and death(natural) is a good thing. I think to die is like going to sleep forever with a short dream and then coldness and darkness.

I recently read Roger Ebert had a Death Bead Vision after which he said 'This is a hoax, it's vast!'. I'm assuming he meant this life is a dream and there's much more. By the way, can those from the US on here please learn to pronounce Van Gogh as in 'cough' NOT 'GO'. Christ, you must have heard it pronounced properly (from Europe) a few times.
@ryanyesman76645 жыл бұрын
It's a social thing. If I went around saying vohn gochhh in America I'd sound like a prick, same way van go sounds stupid in Europe. All I'm saying is I dont go around telling English people it's pronounced Pachee and meheeco, not Paris and Mexico. Different languages and cultures have different names and pronunciations of proper nouns that are all equally correct. Hence the mess of names for Germany or Finland around the world. If you went up to a Mexican and told them its Germany and not Alemania they'd probably think you're an idiot cuz we all know it's really deutcheland unless you're polish in which case its niemcy and if you say otherwise you're wrong and a dead man.

Tl;dr there is only one truth that a human being can know about the afterlife - that he knows nothing of the afterlife no book written about what some mythical creature did back in the dark ages can change that fact irregardless of what you believe - you cannot know it is true - no matter how blindly you follow it blame your mythical creature of choice for deciding to never prove its existence thus it comes down to three options Option A: believe in some mythical creature - living up to - or guilt-tripping yourself for failing to - follow its arbitrary rules w/ the only bonus you know you can count on - being the "he's all dressed up w/ nowhere to go" dark humor joke at funerals only to die later in a - likely - inconvenient way for your family and all those you care about Option B: live however the hell you feel like - becoming the person you want to be - or hating yourself for failing to do so only to die later in a - likely - inconvenient way for your family and all those you care about Option C: deciding that this life is a complete joke that likes to take away everything you care about that you don't have any goals you want to persue that even if religion A were true - you don't believe some mythical creature that randomed you to life w/out asking your oppinion on the matter - has any fcking right to judge you for your actions and that you don't want to play this game anymore only to die how you please fearing death is for the religious - not the sane

yes. there are only carts attached to horses, so we must choose which one. But isnt that how it would work no matter the reality? If you were a rat with our conciousness would not the option be to risk death for cheese? If you were the moon, wouldnt you wish to be the sun for you know of its warming gaze, and so on? We sadden because we know of what else, but we are also happy because we know of what else. Zen my friend, is the peace of life

I give a fuck if people think videogames are art or not, i just play them and enjoy them. And i give a fuck about everyone's beliefs and disbeliefs.
