She's gorgeous herself and we've built quite a nice life together. From the projects in Queens to owning a home and an acre of land... this is who I was meant to be with. It took me awhile to learn these lessons because I've had soooooo many women in my life, probably the reason God gave me daughters... lol.

I want a man who has guy friends who are good, but I'm his best friend. But in this case I'll always be second to other women. I said this, and he said he felt controlled. That says it ALL. Marriage is not a contract It is a covenant! Love is not about satisfying your wants, needs and desires, It's about sacrificing them, so that you can put the wants, needs and desires of your spouse ahead of your own.
@MrAroone Жыл бұрын
"Love is not about satisfying your wants, needs and desires, It's about sacrificing them, so that you can put the wants, needs and desires of your spouse ahead of your own." Be careful not to fell prey of a narcissist who can exploit your idealized vision of marriage. You are free to think that, but there are alternatives to this description of marriage which is a social norm that is supposed to serve a purpose. By the way the concept of marriage until death was put in place in a world were people would easily die (war, famine, giving birth etc...) and in rural areas with little opportunities. It was also an instrument to build links between families. The concept of "marriage of love" was mainly bourgeoisie romantic literature (for nobles it was even worse, daugthers and sons were tools for alliances). And in the working class, marriage was more a way to make sure people can make love with God's approval. Today, we live mainly in cities with life expectancies of 70 to 80 years surrounded by thousands of people and in a society were individualism is almost a cult (while collectivism is no longer the norm). So, times have change. We are struggling to adpat the idealized concept of "marriage of love" with the harsh reality.

Thing is, when you get to the stage where you need all these "characters" to come up and tell you what's right or wrong to do, that means you've made up your mind already, and nothing really works at that point. Ok he's not gonna sleep with that woman but there'll be another one, even two or three or even more, and it'll happen because he's not longer happy with the woman he's with, and their marriage is not gonna last anyway. It's true that men usually cheat for different reasons from women, but there's also men who cheat because they're unhappy and want out. And they're more than we think.
