Great video! Last year every dock on our lakes was fished hard with a whacky worm. This year you can hardly get a bite with the same worm. Ned Rig is in the same book. So I flip a finesse jig under a dock just hit with a Whacky Worm by the guy in the front of the boat. I catch more fish under docks using a small jig than he does. And they are 3-4 lb fish that just refused to bite the worm.

Yesterday I was visiting a friend down in NC. (I’m a fellow Ohioan.) I had thrown larger baits most of the day at obvious targets. I moved into a cove to fish the edge of some lotus/lilies of some kind. As I was back there on this flat, I noticed some dark spots in the water and looking down I realized they were old stumps. (The “featureless flat” came to mind.) I tossed the Chad Shad in such a way as to weave it between a couple of these stumps and was quickly rewarded with about a 4.5 pounder. Two things I’ve heard from your channels-featureless flats, and fishing the extreme. 👊🏼 90° water and here was a good one sitting on a stump in 18” of water.

Great advice Tyler. All that said, how do you fish Hoover Reservoir here in Ohio. I have done it all...what is the deal with Hoover? I would like your insight. Love your videos, bought your shirts and hats, good stuff all around.

I fished Newton Lake in Illinois for 5 hrs this morning, and 41/2 hours not even a bite. I think it depends what state you live in, I finally figured out a 3” white paddle tail got them to bite. This is a great tip you have tho tho, it just don’t work for me. The 2.0 KVD crank bait worked today as well.

This was a really great reminder especially for our extremely pressured lakes and ponds in California. I do this sometimes without even thinking about it but this reminder will definitely have it in my mind as a go to when things are tough 🙌🏼

I love downsizing, It really helps. I have 3 small ponds in my neighborhood and you need to downsize to get the bass to bite

Smaller ponds may have Smaller forage as well.

Deeper- I gotta try that one- got plenty of lakes that go 50-60-80+ feet up here: going a bit deeper than my standard 20-25feet might be a good call- always good to see the fresh perspective.

Appreciate the videos, and the sun shirts are money. Any idea when spinning rod gloves may be available?
