Yes, watch One Foot in the Grave. It's a fantastic series. Another one like Father Ted that has the protagonist get into some incredibly ridiculous situations. Victor Meldrew is one of the all time great British comedy characters.

Yeah, one foot in the grave, when he went to hospital with suspected appendicitis and the male nurse was shaving his pubic hairs, then the hospital officials turn up to calm the situation, because the guy doing it was a mental patient dressed up as a nurse. So feckin funny.

I met 3 of my heroes in the early 80s.I had gone to Manchester to watch Tottenham play there.On the way back we stopped at a Service Station on the M1.When we went in to use the bathroom facilities three of the Spurs players were in there,they had stopped off to use the toilets.They didn’t have toilets on their couch I imagine.Steve Perryman was there with Don Mc Allister and Glenn Hoddle.considering we had traveled all the way to Manchester on a freezing cold night and the team lost 2-0 without having hardly any chances,Don Mc Allister and Steve Perryman were great with us but Glenn Hoddle seemed like a miserable bastard.COYS.

One foot in the Grave did get an American version, it lost all the British jokes. The American show was called 'Cosby', you can guess who stared in the show. In one of the UK epps Victor kills a turtle, in the American show Cosby uses baby talk and the turtle lives. We are told the UK has losers and America has 'winners', history says.
