honestly man this is a great start jjks gaming. so much potential competitively, and the 2v2 aspect + unique gimmicks represent the series so well metaphorically. i hope byking gets the support they need for updates and future games. cause there is a good foundation here to build on.

@@Childish.artist yea everyone is so negative. it would have been cool to have a bombastic story mode or a hella creative UI, but i dont think people realize thats up to the resources bandai gives, the developers arent making it ass on purpose. even storm doesnt get good story modes these days. what byking did give us tho is unique combat system that arena fighters dont really see, a 2v2 system that has me and my friends having a lot of fun. i think everyone is just just used to the storm games, where long combos and aggressive play is king. here you will actually get punished badly for trying to extend combos, a lot of people are giving up simply cause its the reverse of what they’re used to.

I think this combat has potential. The concept is actually pretty cool, that only CTs do damage. While I’m still getting used to the floatiness of the game, it’s not the worst I’ve ever experienced. If this game gets more updates after Hidden Inventory, I think the game could get more refined over time, and feel more welcoming. I personally like the learning curve needed to get good at this game, but I can see where people are coming from. I just view the story mode as more practice before going online, and the music in this game is just amazing. One more note, they need to make it to where we can do online 1v1s

Ignorance is toxic, so you would be too. The game has justified bad points like the coast, character selection and missing singleplayer focus, but after playing it myself, it has many good points like the the most part of the gameplay, the design of characters, stages etc. and story visualization and new vanilla story parts. Its a funny first step - and hopefull it comes more and better content for it or other games. I still dont think a full price is justiefied, but a) many games have this problem and b) the game is far more worth then many people saying. Its not a cashcrap, but not a full price worthed game. But i also saw many people complettly overreact and hate the game.

The story not all that great but the online is actually fun i think if people just learn how the game works then they will see how fun it can be but you know how people on the internet are they expect ninja storm clone or a fighterZ clone but even if this game was like either of the 2 people still would complain about it being another storm or fighterZ and at this point nothing good enough for people when it comes to a game but i don't really care what anyone says this is jjk first game stop expecting it to be perfect like damn just go make your own game

Its obvious the people who dont like the game wanted it to be a completely different game, having played dissidia final fantasy this game is basically that but even better. All I see these days is people wanting fighterz clones for EVERY anime franchise, fighterz is great but never do I feel like the characters im playing like in arena fighters. Great vid.

2:35 -What's wrong with arena fighter games?? What kind/style of game should an action-oriented anime like Jujutsu Kaisen get?

Other action options could be an action adventure, 3D fighter more like Tekken (tag should be considered), 2D fighter (tag makes sense especially), action RPG like Kakarot but it isn't like other genres are impossible. Sgt Frog got a game which played like classic Tales of. Attack on Titan got a visual novel and typing game, not only swinging action games. The fighting sub-genre of arena fighter has been stained since it was almost the only format that action anime licensed games in the west seemed to be released in and the vast majority seem to be samey (Naruto Storm - though they are very very polished if only in presentation) or down right bad (Jump Force, Burning Blood, One Punch Man Hero No One Knows). I think really good ones do exist like Dissidia (especially before the PS4 one apparently) and Budokai Tenkaichi. There are even older great than that with Gundam Vs, Gotcha Force and technically Virtua On or Power Stone depending on how I define them. That being said, Bandai Namco often don't bring their A game budgets and studios to arena fighters and FighterZ is one of many recent 2D fighters (DNF Duel, Granblue) that ArcSys more or less hit it out of the park with.

This seems like a game that focuses more on functionality than glits and glamor. This is why I love J Stars over Jump Force. Jump force was graphically superior and had more mainstream appeal, but J stars was a solid game with a diverse cast of characers that played differently. Unfortunately It’s hard for a game series to take flight these days it seems. If social media was around when budokai 1 or budokai tenkaichi 1 came out then those games would be torn to shreds. However if those games didn't exist, then pur beloved B3 & B3 wouldn't exist.

Nah, I'd doubt. Budokai/Tenkaichi 1 would have done great with social media in part because I think they are far more compelling packages, have a lot more of the license to serve (JJK did not have hundreds of episodes to work with) and have local multiplayer. It may be me, but I also perceive those as mechanically more interesting though I'm sure BT1 must have a lot of issues on inspection. Fortunately for fans of licensed games, even awful or mediocre ones can get sequels like J Stars (I think it is very bad), Legacy of Goku (it is one of the worst licensed DB games I've ever played) and Nick All Stars.

Have fun, man. No need to advertise that you don't care either, show us the value that you found. This isn't really for you but for me to ramble earnestly, but I'll wait for the next one since a game without local play, a good story mode, additional modes beyond online isn't appealing to me. There isn't even a public demo for doubters who may have only seen it at a convention (my nephew liked it, but I'm cynical as heck and didn't have the time to try it). Lastly as someone who hasn't gotten into the series yet, it wasn't necessary expecting it to be able to pull me in (thought it is nice there is dual audio) but it would be nice if it could be a good entry point or complement like some other games. The Excel menus aren't inviting at all after a day's work.

It has a lot of problems for sure. Story is slideshows with 7 minutes worth of cutscenes out of the 6 hours worth of story. Local play even at half frame rate would’ve been cool since the pc would’ve probably handled local at unlimited frames. The Japanese language setting is near pointless there’s no subs aside from story scenes. The Dub falls flat too. The gameplay though is extremely fun

@@ShonenGameZ Personally even a flawed dual audio (not subbed everywhere, no mixed audio option, so so performances) is a big win since it means you might get something which a Japanese only release wouldn't have and didn't waste your time getting attached to one cast. Best case scenario, the dub fighting lines may be replaced with mods if they could do better and you are on PC. I'll check the game out someday, duder and if nothing else, I can still enjoy the game's music even if I don't connect with watching gameplay soon.
