I remember when this game just came out. I was recovering from a drug addiction at the time and this game made that entire process a lot easier. It still sucked don't get me wrong but that's one of the hardest things to do when going through that process is trying to keep your mind off the drugs. They say find a hobby or something else to try to occupy your mind with so this came at a really particularly great time for me. I wouldn't go as far as saying it saved my life but I will never forget that process and by extension I will never forget this game and what it meant to me at the time.

The more I look back on this game the more I've come to appreciate it. After a while I thought it was kind of goofy, but now I admire what it tried to do, and honestly? It still holds up. No game since has tried to use facial capture like this (for good reason, I'm pretty sure it was so expensive they went bankrupt), and it's one of the rare few detective games that requires some degree of critical thinking and puzzle solving. And once you get into it, the story actually covers some real, heavy shit that most games wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Yeah, it has it's flaws, its jank, its rough edges. But goddamit if this game isn't the definition of "diamond in the rough". I want to go back and play it now.
