The A2 certificate is for the whole European union. I live in Belgium where the A2 is fully free of charge, but the assessment is ridiculously hard and only offline in Brussels. I got my A2 certificate in the Netherlands and only paid 99 euros for the assessment which was online. Now i have my specific certificate via my job (police). I have a mini 3 pro for private use. At work we use the M300 and the M30. With the SORA's it will be more difficult to fly a state aircraft in certain conditions. The M30 will be better.

Its hard to fly a big drone around, especially cities. People dont like the noise, dont like being filmed, dont like having something big over their heads. A believe the Mavic Mini series is the best for consumers who just want to casualy film stuff. You can carry is anywhere, it is quite discrete and wont get you into trouble (most of the time).

I would like to bring up a point for discussion regarding the C2 of the Mavic 3. We cannot forget that for the class certification, what EASA refers to and what counts is the MTOM, not the TOM. The TOM is only aplyable on legacy drones. Only in Legacy drones does the TOM (takeoff weight) matter for flying in a Open category till the en of the transitional period. And if we consider that ALL Mavic 3 drones have the same aircraft body, and only the payload changes, then we can say that they all have the same MTOM. And that MTOM of the entreprise M3 is 1050g, which means that in theory, any drone has to go to class C2. This only does not happen because it is the responsibility of the manufacturer to indicate what the TOM of the aircraft is. And DJI has placed the TOM of their consumer drones equal to the MTOM. This does not happen in any other aircraft because all manufacturers and regulatory entities want there to be a safety margin. No one will put an aircraft in the air that is at its operational limits. But it was "allowed" for drones and DJI to do this. Therefore, in my opinion, the entire Mavic 3 platform should be C2, not just the Mavic 3 Pro and Enterprise series. Regarding EASA saying that the Mavic 3 series can fly in A2 with Class C2 or C1 depending on its weight. Again, I do not agree. The Mavic 3 does indeed have all the capabilities to fly in Subcategory A2 (in terms of hardware) and also has the C1 seal for the Mavic Classic. But in my view, these drones should still be considered Legacy drones at this moment. This is because to fly in A1 or A2, pilots must according to regulation 947/2019: UAS.OPEN.020 UAS operations in subcategory A1 d) Be classified as C1 and meet the requirements of that class, as defined in Part 2 of Annex of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945 and be operated with an active and updated electronic identification system and active geospatial recognition system. UAS.OPEN.020 UAS operations in subcategory A2 3-Be carried out with an unmanned aircraft classified as C2 and that meets the requirements of that class, as defined in Part 3 of Annex of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2019/945, and be operated with an active and updated electronic identification system and active geospatial recognition system. As we can see here, although Mavic 3 drones may have the capacity for active and updated electronic identification systems and active geospatial recognition systems, they are not yet available (due to EASA's fault) and as such, cannot be flown in regular A1 and A2 subcategories, but as Legacy aircraft. Therefore, until EASA makes a Remote ID operational and an active geospatial system possible, ALL drones must be operated as Legacy drones. This means that any Mavic 3 can only fly in A2 during the transition phase. This is my opinion.

You must be aware of what the ESAS rules say. Now more it says " An unmanned aircraft system in class C1 must meet the following requirements: 1. Be made of such materials and have such performance and physical properties that the energy that would transmitted to a human head in a collision at top speed would be less than 80 J, or, as one alternative, have a maximum take-off mass below 900 g, including payload." The key word here is "maximum take-off mass" i.e. not take-off mass for the occasion, but the Maximum possible. So a lighter battery does not help. Then that thing with 5 m and 30 m. The 1:1 rule also applies so it's below 5 m flight height and below 30 m flight height. So if you ar 15 m avay in slow speed is max flight height 15 m. Real Pro UAS are the Matrice and Inspire series

you should have mentioned, that the 5m safe distance for slow fly mode is only for up to 5m flight height. If you fly f.e. 60m high, your safe zone needs to be 120m in diameter around the drone and along their flight path. So this is for most filming situation impossible to handle

"If you have a drone with a CE class 2 mark, under subcategory A2, as a general rule, keep the UA at a lateral distance from any uninvolved person that is not less than the height at which the drone is flying (this is the ‘1:1 rule’, i.e. if the UA is flying at a height of 40 m, the distance from any uninvolved person should be at least 40 m), and never fly closer than 30 metres horizontally from any uninvolved person. If your drone is equipped with a low-speed mode function and this is active, you can fly as close as 5 metres from uninvolved people." In a more detailed definition : « SAFE DISTANCE FROM UNINVOLVED PERSONS (a) The minimum horizontal distance of the UA from uninvolved persons should be defined as the distance between the points where the UA would hit the ground in the event of a vertical fall and the position of the uninvolved persons. (b) As a reference, when the UA is operating in close proximity to people, the remote pilot should keep the UA at a lateral distance from any uninvolved person that is not shorter than the height (‘1:1 rule’, i.e. if the UA is flying at a height of 30 m, the distance from any uninvolved person should be at least 30 m). (c) In any case, the distance from uninvolved persons should always be greater than: (1) 5 m, when the low-speed mode function on the UA is activated and set to 3 m per second; (2) 5 m, when operating a UAS balloon or airship; or (3) 30 m in all other cases. » EASA's documentation

@@antoniocvalmeida the one to one rule means if you fly at 5m height the safe distance is 5m as radius around the drone, so 10m in diameter, if you fly at 10m the safe distance is 10m so 20m in diameter even with slowflymode, if you fly 30m the safe zone is 60m in diameter and if you fligh higher the safe distance as radius must be always the flight height as radius and doubled as diameter. Also it means: you have to make sure the no uninvolved person enters this safe zone, and any person in a car is always an uninvolved person. the 1:1 rule always applies above the 5m (slowflymode) or 30m rule (without slowflymode)

@@MichaelRadeck I only take pictures at sunrise and sunset, when there are no people in the area where I am taking off the drone. People get very upset not for their safety (1:1 rule) but for their right to privacy. If there are people in the area it is to forget, it is no fun for us, questions and more questions...... So rule #1 never launch the drone in an area with people. :) Rule n.2 - 1:1 rule applies: If the flight altitude is 50 m, for example, the distance must be at least 50 m. However, the horizontal distance must not be less than 30 m to the nearest uninvolved persons. An exception applies if i fly has a "low speed" mode, and this mode is switched on. In this case, the minimum distance must be only 5 m. I am a remote pilot certificate and i have insurance.
