Ya I'm thinking about doing the same. I already have the Mini 3, Mini 4 Pro, AIR 2S, AIR 3, DJI FPV Drone, Avata 2, The Neo, all are fly more Combo's. I was going to buy the AIR 3S, once it gets released. But from what ive seen so far, it doesn't seem like it's going to be on par, with the Mavic 3 regular. I do have $2,500 already saved up for a new Drone, so it's going to be a slightly used, or a refurbished Mavic 3 Pro, or the Mavic 4.

The video is great! Thanks for gathering information on these potential new releases. I just wanted to rectify a detail you mentioned about the photosites, the green, blue or red filter in front doesn't record light with a certain color. The red filter, for example, selects the luminance of the desired wavelength. Once the red luminance of the photon has been captured, along with all the other photosites on the sensor, debayering takes place to apply a color filter to the luminances processed in the desired colorimetric space. I'm sure you meant that when you explain it in the video but i just give a little depeer information for who wants :)

There is also a New RC Plus 2 hit the FCC about a week ago, which will most likely be supported by these drones if they are the mavic models JV31/32. The Mavic 4 is shaping up to be a beast of a drone, that gimbal and battery size are going to put this drone well above the EU drone limits for C1 labels, which may limit some sales. It will NEVER come in cheaper then the mavic 3 series, the best we can hope for is that it stays the same, unless they cut some corners but I cant see it. The cameras I am eager to hear about, it would be great to get both telephotos to 1" but unlikely, although I don't think they will be the same size, although difficult to be sure, one of those bottom cameras looks bigger then the other in the leaks from a month or so ago. The main camera absolutely needs a wider aperture, I mean the mini 4 pro gets some absolute cracking shorts for its size due to that nice wide aperture, havent used the air 3 but it uses same sensors so will be equally as good. DJI have either been able to keep this very closely guarded which is weird and unlike them, or the actual launch is still a long time away but they are getting ahead of the ban by getting the FCC permissions in ASAP, even though those permissions may be revoked further down the line.

I fly two Mini 3 Pro's (as they are the first drones I got when I started my business in October of '22 and wanted a backup drone as well, though if I would have waited until late November I would have gotten one Mini 3 (non-pro) instead of the second pro model, no real regrets though), Air 3, and Mavic 3T. I'm curious if DJI will be releasing enterprise versions of the Mavic 4 series and what upgrades they may have. I also wonder if after the release of the Mavic 4 if they will finally release the SDK for the Mavic 3 series (non-enterprise models) and maybe for the Mini 4 Pro as well. I haven't upgraded either of my Mini 3 Pros to Mini 4 because of the lack of SDK support. Sometimes for mapping missions I rather risk my cheapish Mini 3 Pro (found used easily around $500) as opposed to my spendy Mavic 3T (spent $7,500 on the kit with extra batteries, 100w charger, and RTK module), especially when centimeter level accuracy isn't needed on orthomosaic construction progression maps.

Really appreciate the info and speculation. I've been flying and filming professionally with a Mavic 3 Classic for the last year and a half. For the most part, it does everything I need. However, when trying more advanced techniques for post-processing, I've been eagerly anticipating the next generation of Mavics. I've wanted to get my hands on a Mavic 3 Cine or Pro, but in my mind it makes more sense to wait for the next gen. Hoping that it's released Q1 2025, since if we haven't gotten it by now, I'm not sure it will be coming this year.

@@rosniraGet whatever works best for your needs, but if you have maxxed out the mini series of drones then the next logical step is the mavic series, the air 3s which will be released on the 15th October may be worth checking out, that will come with a 1" 50mp sensor, and a secondary 1/1.3" 48mp sensor and will have a new lidar and a new nightscape sensing system, also a new tracking beacon will be sold as an accessory which sounds like a great addition for fast flight precision tracking

Panasonic/Lumix now has a new custom designed MFT sensor that is pretty incredible. It's got a rare dual gain conversion architecture that gives it about 13 stops of dynamic range in 6k. It can also capture 120p in 4k. This sensor actually beats some full frame sensors in dynamic and also slightly beats Sony's current APS-C sensor in DR. (FX30 and A6700). I'm guessing that Lumix could sell this to DJI to help cover the R&D cost to build this chip.

A really good insight and upload, thank you. A Mavic 3, A2S, and mini3Pro flyer here. I know, my hanger is getting old but it serves me well still. However, i’m acutely aware I need to invest in the new gear soon-ish! I would like that 3 rd camera option just to give me a hike in creative options and for inspections so I don’t need to get so close to structures. of the Mavic 4 maybe on the cards. So i’ve skipped the upgrades between mine and the last iterations. If the A3S has that 1” sensor and one telephoto it’s a possible upgrade for me if they keep the weight down. My hanger fits my user case from a commercial perspective, I don’t need to invest in the big boy gear as I just hire it as and when. So of DJI, please don’t make the mistake of over pricing the Mavic 4 or A3S or i’ll skip again. They’re just tools at the end of the day I guess, even if I have been known to pat them on the head, can I call it a head, for a well done, and thanks for a great job gesture after a mission before putting them to b… I mean in my drone backpack!!

When I got my Phantom 4 pro I didn't think there could be a better drone camera. I don't do video, well mostly no video, just stills. I have good cameras, currently a Nikon D850, Z-7 and Z-9. I know what good pictures look like. I have never expected a really good picture with any of my drones but, my Mavic 3 pro blows me away. With Photoshop I can remove all the noise from the 166mm camera and boost the saturation on the 70mm and 166 but I usually have to do very little with the 24mm. With my Nikons I can crop and still have plenty of resolution, I can't do that too much with the Mavic 3 Pro 166 or 70 but I actually can successfully do some cropping on the 24mm. The dynamic range on the 166mm camera is not great so I always use the feature of taking 3 pictures one stop above and one stop below and combine them in PS and it works great. One of my best shots of Tsuchinshan-ATLAS was from the 70mm. I was able to get a wide open 5 second shot that looked great, 5 seconds. That was as long as I could get and not have star trails. It was a little windy and still was able to hang motionless for 5 seconds. It was like the drone was attached to a pole. If the Mavic 4 Pro comes out with a higher resolution larger sensor for the 166mm camera I will be very tempted. I do not however imagine it will be any cheaper than the 3Pro. A lot of photographers say you don't need much resolution. Don't listen to that nonsense. Being able to crop with a high dynamic range high resolution image is a wonderful luxury and can make you look like a really good photographer.

DJI could easily add UHS-II micro SD card support for better data rates. I'm still on the original Mavic 3. It was quite the ride with the early release and ongoing firmware updates to bring it up to the feature set that was marketed. I hope DJI doesn't do that again. I'll probably buy this one for another focal length option.

M43 sensors max out at 20Mpx. Panasonic have a 25Mpx one, but that's proprietary. If they are going to increase main camera resolution then would likely by APS-C

Nice video with some useful info, especially clearing out the sensor size and misleading marketing. Correction: "Quad Bayer" is not superior than standard Bayer and does not mean better dynamic range. It means using smaller pixels with different CFA arrangement and different pixel processing options. And smaller pixels are limiting DR as they cannot saturate as well as larger pixels.

I own a DJI Mavic 3 Pro. Super excited for the Mavic 4 Pro! If its a big upgrade that's exciting! If its a slight upgrade, I still love the Mavic 3 Pro. I might just buy the better controller for it. The Base controller is pretty laggy, and some range issues. I would like to see dual memory cards for dual recording. I think what you mentioned makes the most sense, 6k 24mp sensor upgrade.

A couple of corrections 3:35 45-50 min flight time & up to 55 or 60 mins hover ??? The flight time for drones is always longer than hover time. 6:30 & 8:40 None of the Mavic 3 pro lenses have any optical zoom.

I believe your pretty right on for the most part. I do believe they will push it to 8k and I expect the pro combo to be 3500 or more. I agree on the sensors. The image processor will be improved and we have learned much from smartphone tech regarding cameras. I do hope they get rid of that cheap Xbox controller that comes with the Mavic. I have the Pro RC just for the brighter screen. I have the evo II v3 , 3s , Mavic pro 3. I have a small business using drones and the energy sector. BTW the evo images ( not video ) are as good as the Mavic 3 pro. Colors require more work than DJI. That drone is for stills and I rarely shoot video with it.

My hopes and dreams for the new Mavic 4 removal of the NFZ weight under 900 grams for Euro market, at least for one of the new models Pixel Shift feature A option Max altitude of more than 500m at the pilots own risk A minimum of 30 megapixel (we have had a 20 PXL limit for too long) Panoramas to have a option AEB Sharpness control Waypoints with more options at each point A RYYB sensor More colour control A gimbal that can look up 90 degrees Price for the two basic models to be the same as the existing Mavic 3 I am not a fan of the quad sensor as it seems to limit the real sensor MP size for example currently, we have on the air 3 a real 12 MP with 48 quad, because of this we don’t get the option for a larger real sensor of 30 MP sensor for example.

I fly a M2Pro and sometimes I swap I in the Zoom camera. It's my favorite drone. With up scaling tech and the fact that most people don't have the tv to see the difference over 4K., I'm very reluctant to upgrade bc of all the memory I'd have to invest in to work with the larger files. Recently, I did a job for a school, shot in 4K, delivered in 1080p. They couldn't be happier
