All I can say is we saw a pretty small portion of their life. And honestly I don't blame any teens for getting pregnant. Your body is literally begging you to get pregnant and people don't educate kids about cycles and fertility windows and all of the options for birth control available. Like for goodness sake stop telling them to just not have sex because it obviously doesn't work. Teen pregnancy rates will only drop when education is a priority over prudism and sheltering and helicopter parenting and religious schpeals that kids can't understand

I know...it seemed to be one big giggle fest. Some parts made me cringe. I honestly don't think they know any better..or they just don't care.
@caesiusgeo4 жыл бұрын
@@dorothycarter2891 I think the giggle fest you're referring to might be a misunderstanding. We only see a glimpse of these people's lives and they probably are acting weird because a camera is shoved in their face. The girl obviously had no idea how her reproductive system works when she said "I didn't get pregnant the first time I had sex so I thought I just couldn't get pregnant." Which is evidence of a complete systemic lack of education, meaning her school system failed her. Just like some people can't teach math to their kids, some people can't teach reproductive health so it must fall on the education system to teach kids about their bodies. And as a final point, when you get pregnant unexpectedly, you have about a day or a week of "oh fudge what did I do" before you roll into either "okay I'm having a baby this is gonna be a rollercoaster but I'm determined to love this baby and care for it" or "okay I need an abortion or adoption." So I'm not surprised you saw it as a giggle fest. I think we saw an immature girl that got pregnant due to lack of education but in all, I believe that throughout the last ten thousand years (dating back to the ice age) we have had girls at 10-16 regularly impregnated and some of them have been better mothers than women at 30 having babies. I'm really just miffed that people feel welcome to cast judgement on a little girl in a bad situation that could have been avoided if schools would do their job.

@eginteractive4 жыл бұрын
@@burnedflowers141 Which is precisely why teenage girls and boys shouldn't be fucking around, especially without birth control. The maturity level just isn't there. Realistically this girl won't mature until probably her late teens, early 20's, which means that child will have to deal with at least 3 / 4 years of instability, meaning being raised by grandparents, never having a stable father figure in her life, and so on. In my opinion we need to get back to a time where having children in your teens was shameful and unacceptable. The majority of people defending this girl / her mother are the reason why we have an epidemic of teenage pregnancies, as the attitude for the last 15 years has simply been, "Oh well it has happened, let's give her the benefit of the doubt, she might make a great mother!" It's thoughts like this that continue generational teenage pregnancy, creating more uneducated children, poverty and welfare dependency. The reason why we feel bad for the child is because the chance that the child will ever have stability in their life is nil. It's the same story over and over. Young girl falls in "love", the boyfriend impregnates her, then vanishes. Then the child grows up, most times without a father figure, and repeats the cycle. I'm not from the UK and we have the same problems in the US. Half of my own family has encountered this, as well as many of my friends from school, neighbors, and so on. People can be supportive without burying their head in the sand. The people who seem harsh on this girl are the ones who are going to be footing the bill for the future generations of teenage mothers and their children, and we want to see this trend stop in its tracks. Young girls should be focusing on their future, securing proper employment, and starting a family with someone who is respectable and will stand by them, not getting into bed with the first guy who shows them attention.

Well, the thing that worried her about her irresponsible teenage daughter being pregnant was that she might not be able to enjoy her teenage years and that she might go into preterm labour. Financial situation? The younger sister having to live in one room with a newborn, not getting enough sleep and being tired in school everyday? The health and wellbeing and responsible upbringing of the baby? Doesn't matter to the mother, she does not seem to care much. No wonder the daughter ended up like this.

Marriage is different to a pregnancy at that point she’s pregnant and you can’t force someone to have an abortion or adopted it out I know a few girls who’s parents did that to them and now they still have emotional scarring from it.
