15 year old Abbie went from doing ‘normal teenage things’ like drinking, smoking and getting arrested to being a clean living, healthy eating, mature and responsible future parent; but that was just the easy part…
Abbie was relieved when she found out she was pregnant because previously one of her biggest anxieties was that she wouldn’t be able to have kids. This angst was soon replaced by another as she is unsure who the baby’s father is. When she broke up with her ex-boyfriend she slept with her best friend and found out she was pregnant shortly afterwards. The father could be either of them. This topped by her overwhelming pregnancy hormones results in a roller-coaster of emotions as she swings between who she wants to be the father and who she thinks it might be.

My youngest brother is over 10.5 years younger than me. I changed my first diaper when I was 8.5 years old. I am sure that the girl in the video matured a lot by the time her baby was 6 months old.

All I can say is we saw a pretty small portion of their life. And honestly I don't blame any teens for getting pregnant. Your body is literally begging you to get pregnant and people don't educate kids about cycles and fertility windows and all of the options for birth control available. Like for goodness sake stop telling them to just not have sex because it obviously doesn't work. Teen pregnancy rates will only drop when education is a priority over prudism and sheltering and helicopter parenting and religious schpeals that kids can't understand

@caesiusgeo
@caesiusgeo 3 жыл бұрын
@@dorothycarter2891 I think the giggle fest you're referring to might be a misunderstanding. We only see a glimpse of these people's lives and they probably are acting weird because a camera is shoved in their face. The girl obviously had no idea how her reproductive system works when she said "I didn't get pregnant the first time I had sex so I thought I just couldn't get pregnant." Which is evidence of a complete systemic lack of education, meaning her school system failed her. Just like some people can't teach math to their kids, some people can't teach reproductive health so it must fall on the education system to teach kids about their bodies. And as a final point, when you get pregnant unexpectedly, you have about a day or a week of "oh fudge what did I do" before you roll into either "okay I'm having a baby this is gonna be a rollercoaster but I'm determined to love this baby and care for it" or "okay I need an abortion or adoption." So I'm not surprised you saw it as a giggle fest. I think we saw an immature girl that got pregnant due to lack of education but in all, I believe that throughout the last ten thousand years (dating back to the ice age) we have had girls at 10-16 regularly impregnated and some of them have been better mothers than women at 30 having babies. I'm really just miffed that people feel welcome to cast judgement on a little girl in a bad situation that could have been avoided if schools would do their job.

All people saying her mom is amazing are straight up nuts. How is allowing your child to misbehave like that supportive? Letting her drink, do drugs, have sex, getting kicked out of school, assaulting others, getting in fights. I have to admit, pregnancy hormones are REAL. I would cry about anything and everything. I once cried, like boo who cried, because as I was driving my prego belly kept hitting the steering wheel as I was making turns. Something triggered and I had to pull over and cry it out 🤷🏽

"Normal teenage stuff"? No, sweet girl, getting arrested, assaulting police officers, drinking, smoking, etc. is not "normal teenage stuff". You need to learn your own value, to love yourself more, to "put your own price on your head" (as my beautiful Grandmother used to tell me.) Sharing yourself with someone is special, to be valued; sex is not love. I wish you well in the future and pray you get the education and support you're going to need as you go through this.
