Self Awareness Confirmed! Good for you figuring out where you fit! The irony is that I eliminated my formatted schedule to give me for freedom to post what I want and to expand my current vlog. Based on that conversation we had last year I decided to share more of my thought process since my day to day life is so routine. I think that too many people have a preconceived notion of what at VLOG is or has to be... you can create whatever you want and you should! No limits!

Hey Sara. I totally get how you feel about daily vlogging. What I mostly love is your Creative Space/Creative Life type videos. They were what got me to subscribe. As an artist and KZbin creator myself, I love the great original content about other creators that I don't see anywhere else and you're really good at it. The interview/collab with Tommy is excellent.

I've been really enjoying your content lately, Sara! I think the less time and place restricted format is really cool and it's allowing you to do more topical stuff and the stories and ideas flow really well! So just keep it up and don't feel like you're in the "vlogger" box. You do you!
@lifelikejosie7 жыл бұрын
love that you did an interview with Tommy & Ben! I found their channel a little while ago and when I did I binge watched it the entire night haha. Cool to see the story behind it. Also, feel ya with the daily vlogging. I'd rather make something when I want to make something rather than having to make something every day. I definitely am consistent these days but I don't think I'll ever go daily😊
@TimSimpson7 жыл бұрын
It sounds more to me (and I'm finding this myself in my own vlog) that you're finally finding what "vlogging" is for you instead of creating the cliche vlog format that we all do. I think there comes a time when you've "done that" and run out of thing that fit into the cliche... and you have to evolve to avoid getting stuck in a repetitive rut. It's evolution! its awesome!

Found the vlog chat to be interesting... like the idea of just creating without labels or limits. I've been posting very consistently (almost daily) over the past 8 months and "vlog" about a very specific topic, my jiujitsu life. It's got breakdowns, tutorials, advice and other stuff... a very specific niche but different types of content.

Hi Sara. i'm not an "expert" of Vlog and my Vlog list is very small. Casey, Ijustine, MKBHD and you. Why this choice ? your passion and your energy. Everyday you try to do your best for offering to us a fun moment on various subjects but also with a certain professionalism which is very good. We like tech, new devices, tutorials and of course we love NY. So as long as you have the passion and you would like to share it with us, continue because you do a good job.

That explains why I felt so disorientated watching the vlog lately. This helped me realise I'm a bit obsessed with daily vlogging. I like the days consistent so I can put together the bigger macro story of that person's story. For example I love Nerdzrls vlog you watch her go from young graduate to professional stunt performer. You see the move to the city the daily grind of work, some good days and bad days., staying posetive through all that. It's inspirational. Tjis shows though you are great at capturing the theme and story regardless of when it goes up and you don't nescisairilly have to force yourself to daily consistency. if the documentry and story is there it's good.

I agree so much with this. I've been trying to revive my channel that I left dormant for a few years, and it is difficult. Daily vlogging is HARD, and burns creators out super quick, but unfortunately the KZbin algorithm changes almost make them a necessity to stay relevant. The new algorithm favors daily uploads extremely heavily, and that's why daily vlogs have been so popular this year. I would prefer to do occasional videos that are very high quality, but the changes in the algorithm mean that views on my videos fall off a cliff after 24 hours, which means comparatively lower quality daily vlogs are the name of the game if you want to build a following. I feel super bad for creators like Devin Supertramp, who make kickass videos but who have found view numbers to be super anemic as of lately. The Game Theorists have an excellent video on this issue titled "Is KZbin Killing Pewdiepie and H3H3...and Everyone?" if you care to check it out.

I just want to say that the part that actually shows Tommy is great. The vid quality is fantastic, you seem nice, very animated and interested. It was a tiny bit awkward that you didn't know the name of his channel, but still great. I feel like if you'd broken this into two videos it would have been much better. If you wanted to stretch for time, you could have added your thoughts after meeting Tommy, how you felt it went, etc. So from 6 minutes on, it's a 9/10,but with the beginning added on, it's a 5/10. That's all I was saying.

I watch videos from casey that are old af (Sorry for my language) and I never even payed attention to it so why bother editing it in? :) I was actually just thinking today... why am I still calling it a vlog now... I guess because I started it that way and the increasing number just keeps me motivated :)
