I DON'T LIKE the 2D Super Mario Bros games!!!

Yeah, it's controversial I know, but I really don't like the 2D Super Mario Bros games. And in this video, I explain Why (and it's not what you probably think).

I'm sure there are millions of gamers that feel the same way, not everyone is a platformer fan, me included, I don't mind the Sonic games but could never get into the 2D Mario games at all. the only Mario games I really like are the Mario Kart and Mario Party games.

Its weird cos i have tried to like the 2d mario games and i just cant - yet i like the Gianna sisters on c64 and amiga. Weird.

I don't have dyspraxia and I feel exactly the same. Seminal games, that belong in any serious collection? Sure. Actually enjoyable gaming experiences? Nope. Sonic at least is loud and colourful, but Mario is such a drag. Walk - die. Walk - jump - walk - die. Walk - jump -walk - duck - walk - die . I had enough memory tests in school, thanks! "Adventure" platformers nearly always fail to hold my interest. However, single-screen puzzle platformers (Bubble Bobble, Burgertime, Tumble Pop or - irony alert - Donkey Kong) are among my favourites. There's probably a diagnosis in THAT! 🤣

What's with the whiny "poor me has a unpopular opinion, I'm gonna get cancelled" attitude? People are accepting of hating 2d Mario, mostly due to the damage 15 years of new super Mario bros sub-series has done to the brand. And the fans of the older entries in the series, like me, generally say they are great titles, but not must-play experiences for every gamer. You can literally say "I don't particularly like (those kind of) platformers" and that's that. And when you then say "I can't enjoy them due to my dyspraxia", who exactly are you arguing against? Who are the people you talk about at 5:15 ? If you are worried about their opinion so much, why didn't you put that info in the first 30 seconds? The real hot take (I assume) is that you don't like Shovel Knight either, but again, start your sentence with "I have dyspraxia" and you're golden.

The NSMB games are really good, what're you on about? I appreciate they got a bit stale by the time NSMBU came out, but I don't see how they're damaging to the brand. They're not as good as Super Mario World, but nothing is, let's face it.

This is actually the wrong opinion! My opion is the correct opinion! 2d mario are awesome! And also, Manic Minor on theC64 did it better! Huzzah! Of course any c64 ports would always better than speccy but that is not actualy a brag or boast or anything, for the extra cost of a c64, it had beter be. our c64 was probbaly $300 US dolars back in 82, then the flopy drive was about that same cost over gaain, $600 US dolars for the kit. But oh yeah it was worth it as the tape loader on c64 was really not fit for sale as slow as it was. It literalyl took about a full 30 minutes side of a tap to load Monopoly, 30K game, roughly all the basic memory was used, so 30 some K total, and a half hour to load. Inexcusable. Literally no computer stores here in Canada sold tape games either, all software sold on disc and once ut got it, piracxy wauy way better with discs.
