Rate cuts commence in June 2024, taking 6-8 months to complete. A potential crash, if any, might occur by March 2025. The soft landing narrative is gaining traction, making this big recession everyone is calling for less likely. With $1 million from a business sale, I'm seeking profitable investment opportunities for the next 3 years.

The financial market is a reliable choice. Diversify your portfolio with I-bonds, stocks (ETFs, REITs, dividend-paying stocks), and bitcoin. Given your budget, I recommend hiring a fiduciary to ensure you receive professional insights for a fee.

Due to my demanding job, I lack the time to thoroughly assess my investments and analyze individual stocks. Consequently, for the past seven years, I have enlisted the services of a fiduciary who actively manages my portfolio to adapt to the current market conditions. This strategy has allowed me to navigate the financial landscape successfully, making informed decisions on when to buy and sell. Perhaps you should consider a similar approach.

There are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with ‘’ Melissa Terri Swayne” for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look-her up.

Canadian media is weird. The media must have a lot of real estate. They keep talking about rate cuts and nothing happens.

Rates should keep going up until all the real estate "investors" (speculators) are flushed out of the market. Make it clear to them that rates will not ever be returning to 1%, not even during a credit crunch/crisis.

Canada / BOC handpick things from USA comfortably, you either follow fully or not, we don’t have 30 yrs interest rate locking.

Well, when we import 57% of our imports from the USA - the relationship between the US dollar and CAD is pretty important. BOC cutting before the FED = CAD dropping = import cost rising = inflation rising. It isn't that difficult.

5% to 7% interest is not a high rate, the prices are the problem not the interest rates,anybody who says that interest rates are high without any doubt hugely overbid,overpriced the house they are making payments on
@harpalmukesh4291
@harpalmukesh4291 Ай бұрын
Why do you think that interest rate is only about housing? The bigger issues is that businesses not investing, even banks are low in new businesses. Monthly mortgage is only one part as there are many other dynamics.
@TerryMcDonald-pz4hy
@TerryMcDonald-pz4hy Ай бұрын
I don’t think interest rates are only related to housing, prices for automobiles have gone outrageous,workers use company profits as bargaining tools for huge wage increases, companies use wages as reasons to raise prices yet even higher, food prices are forcing people to food banks who have never been in this situation before,inflation makes prices rise,greed makes prices rise, The sooner people realize it’s the prices that have risen wildly and tackle high prices instead of whining constantly about high interest rates the sooner the interest rates will come down. The whole idea of higher interest rates is to lower inflation otherwise prices will continue at 8.1% instead of 3.1% or lower.

Remember that the current all-time high in the market, is still below the previous high if you take account of inflation. Also remember that these so-called high interest rates we are experiencing right now are still low by historic standards.

Nothing wrong with a 5% BoC interest rate. Encourages savings and discourages spending beyond one’s means.

@@bdegrds Tell me what's affordable in Vancouver? How can I raise a family? Why am I being forced to move out of a city that I grew up in? Why is it fair that I have been saving for so long and played it safe to buy a house but the government keeps on printing money, robbing me of my money by devaluing the value while house prices are running away from me.

How stupid can you be to cut rates when housing is far from affordable? Keep the rates at 5% or higher. We don't want housing to make dumb money. JT must do the right thing and force the current foreigners/permanent residents to sell and park their money in commercial property. Leave the residential properties for canadians to live in. Housing should be affordable. Make a policy that prevents that from happening again.
