The movie itself is just okay but alot of the hate comes from how The Rock tried to put his name on everything to try and get in charge of half of DC and make it so he'd fight Superman. He also purposely turned down being in Shazam because he didn't think it was big enough for someone like him. Even though Black Adam is Shazam's archenemy.

@@kyng_spade the biggest and most sold issue is Superman and Shazam vs black Adam, it’s why the other Shazam movies flopped no one gives a fuck 😂the rocks right what the ppl want is superman vs black Adam, just think about how many years/decades would it take to set up this fight ??? By the time that happens the rock and Henry cavil will be unable to perform, 😂 I looked at the 10 year plan for dc and man it’s downhill from here just pure ass titles might as well wrap it up, 🤦‍♂️

I love the fact that they had the helmet use magic by itself because it's not the wielderr with the immensely powerful magic, it's the helmet because it has the god Nabu in it. Sabbac's death was pretty metal. My only problem with this movie is the fact that they didn't do some characters right except for their outfits. Dr. Fate is one of the most op characters in DC who can most likely take on Black Adam by himself. Also I hate the fact that they made Hawkman totally against delifing enemies/villains despite the fact that Hawkman is a known enemy delifer when neccessary since he's a warrior,in the comics. I like this movie, it's just they did 2 of my favorite characters wrong. Sabbac looks dope. Black Adam usually dies when he says Shazam since he's so old. It's a shame we won't get to see Black Adam in other films. Also them not making Black Adam the king of Khandaq like they should've since that's what he is in the comics is so stupid. Two things I don't like about what they did with Dr. Fate are; 1: this is the only movie we have a live action Dr. Fate in and they could've done more with him after this movie, 2 : he just let the punch happen.

This was a fire, classic popcorn Superhero film. Everyone hating on it had unrealistic expectations. Rock killed it as Black Adam. Their take on Hawkman and Dr. Fate were refreshing compared to their usual animated counterparts. Loved the younger new characters too. Black Adam twist reveal was amazing writing and lead to so much understanding of his mindstate. Thank you for giving this movie the respect it deserves.

I think that, since there’d likely be a good amount of DC fans watching this movie, it was setup to keep us wondering whether or not Black Adam would save the day or end up a major threat to the world, despite him “learning” how heroes are supposed to operate. In the end, he’s all about his. As long as you don’t come looking for trouble, he don’t care what happens to the rest of the world. Still, it’s always better not to antagonize him.

Well the hate in terms of comic fans comes from the Rocks ego of basically shooting down any chance of collaboration with Shazams cinematic universe cause the rock didn't want to play a villian or what he considered to be one. Cause in long lore Shazam and Black Atom or basically Goku vs Vegete. The Rock shot this down hard. So he tanked not only Black Atom 2 if it could happen and Shazam 2 or three. He basically cock blocked Shazam from raising to new heights and instead possibly made the script writers dumb down the movie for Shazam 2.

I saw a trailer where black adam mentions his son saving him. When I saw a glimpse of the boy's father, I immediately recognized that he was Dwayne Johnson and figured it out pretty quickly

Movies like Black Adam will most likely fail because he's a side character which will limit the story. Black Adams story will always be connected to Shazam. The fact that there is no appearance by shazam is what killed this movie from getting a sequel. The Shazam universe was destroyed before it started because of Dwayne the Rock Johnson ego and the silliness of the Shazam movies. If they had worked together both stories could've worked out. Now Shazam won't get a 3rd film and Black Adam won't get a sequel. Too many egos in Hollywood. Also it doesn't help that the main character in Shazam acts like a side character.

agree, I read Shazam comic and it hurts they make Shazam to be Deadpool 2.0, Shazam is not like that at all, this what happened when you give Geoff John as producer in any movie he touched, he will ruined it. looks at Geoff John did with green lantern, justice league (2017), Shazam and Shazam 2. he basically make it looks like Sunday morning cartoon

I think it's cuz of what happened to Henry Cavill. They gave us the hope Black Adam 2 will be a fight with Supes. But nope. He was done dirty after this. I saw this in theaters, cuz I wanted to see Henry back on the big screen. Plot was basic, uninteresting, and predictable. A lot of the CGI scenes looked horrible. None of the jokes were funny. The *main* target audience for this movie were little kids in elementary school, the same thing with shazam II. Of course, not saying adults can't enjoy this. The plot and characters are tailored for kids. 2/5 movie, all 2 points for Henry Cavill. And it's the last DCEU Henry Cavill will ever be in.

Fuck it ill say it its a lower upper tier, high mid tier superhero movie it was a blast to watch Dr Fate James Bond was the highlight for me but I also liked Hawkman and the newbies only a couple issues for me but don't hold up my enjoyment of the film I'd even say its a great film high cinema no but not everything has to be plus I'm a sucker for Henry Cavill Superman and before all the other stuff this was his big return and that was just the best

Here to give my honest opinion. Nothing against Dwayne and I actually like his part as Black Adam. My problem with the movie is all the other little stuff that kinda ruins the whole movie for me. 1. Some of the cgi is just awful (19:33, like wtf was that). 2. The main kid's acting is just not realistic enough for me, seems like the Freddy in Shazam but not as good. And I'm not sure how to explain this, but at some parts of the movie where the kid should be shouting or yelling, it sounds like he's just speaking into a mic. 3. It feels like they're trying to squeeze too much into one movie, making the introduction of Justice Society and its heroes not special and therefore make them seem like just copies of other heroes (Atom Smasher -> Antman, Hawkman -> Batman, Dr. Fate-> Dr. Strange). If I know a bit more about these heroes I'm sure I'll see the differences, and might even feel a bit sad when Dr. Fate died. The list just goes on and on. Overall I love to finally see a movie where Dwayne plays a more serious/hardcore role, but man the other stuff just ruins the movie for me.
