I don't understand the hate - MTB fun at Gisburn

I've spoken to a number of mountain bikers who don't rate Gisburn Forest and I don't get it.
It has a great mix of trails - downhill, technical climbs, great reds and fun blues. I've never see it silly busy and there's a great cafe!
This was my first emtb ride here (Nukeproof Megawatt) and it made it so much more fun, particularly the climbs!
I suppose the reason it isn't talked about more is because it's a real pain to get to, down winding, country lanes. Worth it though in my opinion.
Great day, only one silly crash and I'll definitely be recommending it.

Can't say I've ever really liked it as a whole, but does have some great sections and it's fairly close to me. Definitely more fun on an E-bike though as I found last weekend. Simons swamp - those rocks are just trying to put you off, not really well thought out in my opinion as are some other bits like the run up to the slab, more like trials riding! It's also so rough round a lot of it it's particularly hard on the arms!!

Gisburn at night on a Ebike is such fun. Turns them trails into a right goodnight it does 👌🏻

went to gisburn last weekend for a bike demo.. soaking wet but mint fun. the trails are narly but great..

Great real video and good look at what the trails are like......hope the shoulder is ok. I wear shoulder pads now after a similar excursion.

Was there yesterday, 8th October. Haven’t been for 6 years, before that used to ride it 13-15 years ago and enjoyed it then. Have to agree it’s degraded a lot, some sections returned to nature. Plenty of parts to throw you & pose danger that shouldn’t. Hully gully still fun, the trees have grown from last time I was there 😂

Aye, suppose it's difficult to get local volunteers to get involved like Dalby or FoD. Shame though.

There are over 6000 subscribers to the Gisburn forest MTB trails page and yet only around SIX volunteer trail builders regularly turn up to the dig days. We try our best, but Considering that the RED 8 loop is approx. 11 miles long you can appreciate the difficulties in trying to keep on top of the trail maintenance.

Thanks bud, took me a while to get used to the bike but I love it now. I can't quite remember how many bars I had left but it must've been a couple because I was in boost all the way back to the car 😂
