The run was off-key and the vowel shaping for it was very bad....ultimately, it's good Christina told her to leave it out because if she went on stage with that, it would have completely messed up her performance. Also, those of y'all saying that Christina's riffs are just as bad, know that's a darn lie! Yes Christina oversings at times however her use of vocal agility is usually on point.

We are going back to the old phrase of Constructive criticism. Christina used that for the benefit of this girl Frenchie Davis , as well as for Christina's show or performance as well. This girl Frenchie Davis was great in understanding that Christina's interruption was correct, and that it was for her to sing her best as possible. Sometimes we may not notice the way we sound , until someone else tells us how we did. As Christina said, she wanted to have Frenchie Davis do her best at her higher range when singing . Great help from Christina, and Great understanding by Frenchie Davis.

I think she’s right. As a mentor, she wants her to utilize what she’s excellent at and capitalize on that to boost your performance. I think she went for a pentatonic scale, but got lost on the music scale, if you notice, the 1-2-3-4 were on key, but the 5 its were she misses, which makes a domino effect and all the notes after that are off. (Correct me If I'm wrong).

Frenchie tried to add too many notes of that last riff and was flat on the last note…. I’m unsure if she couldn’t do it or was nervous, but in actual competition when the stakes are high, you want to clean a riff like that up. And Christina didn’t say don’t do it, she asked her to clean it up, because she tried too hard for a pentatonic and fell flat towards the end.

I’m not saying she shouldn’t riff but if you miss the note it muddies the whole thing. She's telling Frenchie to lay off something she is having trouble nailing in rehearsal bc it's going to be more difficult for her to execute when the cameras are on, the audience is live and the stress is much higher.
