I work in the ER literally had a woman that dropped her daughter off and cried because she can no longer take care of her. Some staff was like well how could she do that. I'm like I'd rather for a parent to drop the child off at a safe place. Rather than the child be with the parent and do harm to them. As a mother who loss a child,. My heart goes out to those babies. I raised two children on my own. Many times I thought I had reached the breaking point. Between, their school, extra curricular activities, doctors' visits, my boss telling if I miss one more day of work because of my children I will be unemployed, it was a lot. That's when the words "it takes a village" truly sounded real. Many in the community helped me. I really thought I was going to lose my mind. Now that they're grown and successful, their mother who just up and left all those years ago wants to be part of their lives. Go figure. Raising children on your own is a daunting task.
