If he'd actually behaved like a worthy champion and proactively fought all the big names in the division and shown the slightest bit of respect for the sport that made him what he is, rather than fight Chisora and an MMA fighter over two years, during which we had to listen to his insufferable bragging and braying on social media, his legacy would be cemented. He'd have been loved and revered by fans and the boxing world at large - his name would still be spoken of fondly and with respect 50-years from now. Instead, he chose the path of least resistance and revealed himself to be a low-grade, cynical fraud. Fair play to him, he, his family and his children have achieved generational wealth, however that won't be enough. All the money in the world can't make a deeply unpleasant, unhappy man happy. I feel for fury bc he has mental Illnesses and boxing was his way of dealing with it. Now that boxing window is closing for him I think he will have even harder time than he is now. As boxing fans we love a fighter that is sharp with the tongue and quick on his feet, but now it comes off sad and you can see he’s having a hard time mentally. I wish him well and life of happiness with his family.
