Sometimes I think of Goldvein Pick as being like a 3 drop in an aggro/tempo style deck, play it turn three, equip and swing immediately, and the treasure holds up 1 mana interaction immediately, or can be used to snowball ahead in subsequent turns. It shines when you have cheap evasive threats, and overall want to shorten the length of the game.

Soul-shackled zombie worked out really well for me in my black white life gain deck that I 6-0'd with at FNM. You can exile flashback cards too which isnt irrelevant in this format

I was really hoping Paul turned around on the pick in this deck, it’s one of my pet cards. Yes it’s tough on the turn you play it, but the payback is often incredibly worth it. Glad it performed well here!

I've found Mischievous Pup to be really solid. It's true that X/1's are pretty bad in this format, since black has reassembling skeleton and the 1 mana insect that dies into a token. White and red also have tolen generation, etc. That said, the 3/1 makes a great blocker and always grts value. Buying back the 2 mana Elvish Visionary cat or just any of the endless good ETBs. It also lets you protect valuable creatures. Its just been a really good and flexible card and I like one in every white deck.

I had a blue green deck with 2 drake hatchers and multiple giant growths, bites and bushwhacks. I would reliably turn 2 drake, turn 3 kill something, hit for 6 and make 2 flyers. it felt like constructed

The Drake hadger IS a great Card I Had IT and IT won me some Games. Normaly you Just have to connect twice to make a Drake.

I’ve gone 4/3 or 3/3 every draft other then one 7/2 and one 2/3 I have no idea what I’m doing wrong either. All of the decks I play look good at first before I play them

Sorry to hear that. I always preach lowering your curve and prioritizing removal and that usually helps. Also the esper colors have been most successful for me.

The 3 slot feels pretty congested to me, with most other options just being a lot better. If one ends up in my deck, I'm usually pretty unhappy about it

Interesting, i haven't really drafted the lifelink synergy deck. To me it just seems like a mediocre payoff so if you're lacking in that department it doesn't seem too bad

Love watching your drafts as always! RE losing to double boltwave, I had the single most tilting experience with it yesterday. I was at 14 and had a board of Kaito w/ 9 counters, a strix owl, a rune wall, and an Erudite wizard that was at 6/7. Opponent was at 8 and only had a firespitter whelp on board. They untap, play a boltwave, triggering the whelp taking me to 10, and hit me with a second rite. Had to get up and go for a walk after that 😂

It really looks like a Prince format. Moat cards are so mid, that looks like better to jusst keep the first 10 best cards, being open to all possibilities, and try to grab some bombs on Pack 2 and 3. Except if you open a big bom p1p1.
