If I remember correctly GOMAD was originally suggested for teens who weren't actually tacking macros and micros properly and it was meant to be a catch all for what they missed in starting strength by mark. I mean its definitely a solid suggestion for back then when there wasn't a plethora of online forums telling younger kids how to eat and train like nowadays.

Fun video! About 20 years ago in my early 20s I went from 160 to 215 doing GOMAD for a year as part of a bulking diet. Bench press max went from 225 to 355 in that time. Skim milk is a pretty good source of protein without the fat of whole. The sugar is still an issue. I found that my weight was inconsistent from day to day based on how much fluid and waste was in my body. You can lose a pound or two just going to the bathroom. The best way to accurately measure weight is to do it first thing in the morning after going 1 and 2. Also, those electronic body fat scales read lower when your well hydrated and higher when you're dehydrated. In all likelihood, your body fat readings dropped because you were better hydrated after drinking all that milk.

Nearly 70% of the adult human population is lactose intolerant due to the very obvious biological fact that adults should not be drinking what is naturally for babies. Not trying to be a dick here or anything, but don’t you think that your weight gain was thanks to a growth spurt? It usually happens in that age range you mentioned and also lots of people confuse their growth spurts with the “special techniques” that they implement. Most of the time the truth is, calories are calories, it is easy to get the calories in through milk, but at the end of the day, there is nothing special about milk per say. Creatine played a bigger role in your transformation along with just your natural growth spurt in that age. Action does not always equal causation. I just wanted to say this so you don’t mislead people into thinking that milk is some magic stuff…

Your craving it because milk has short-chain opioid peptides that literally creates addiction. In cheese these compounds are even more concentrated, and that is one of the reasons that many people can't stop consuming it. Milk also increases IGF-1 significantly and that can be good and bad. In terms of hypertrophy is potentially good, it stimulates the growth of both fat tissue and muscles, but it's also been linked to various forms and growths of cancers so yeah....In general, this went pretty much as I expected it to go. Regarding the Bioimpedance machine...don't worry too much about the actual number, worry about the consistency of said number. Even if the machine adds 5% to your total body fat, it dosn't really matter if it does that consistently. All you need to care is the difference between your starting BF% and your end BF% and if the machine is consistent that value will also be consistent.

I have made tons of strength gains as well in just one year went from 135 bench to 275 for 1, 135 deadlift to 405 for 2, and front squat 315 for 5. But one thing is for sure you will look like a big soft baby man but your power will be unparallel I have noticed so I will keep it as my staple. I'd guess the sugar in the milk was what caused the cravings. Your body 'keeps in mind' which foods cause which reaction in your body and milk contains alot of sugar which causes addiction. You looking at the milk, your body signals you "I want that (the sugar)" because it gets you high
@peacefulbeast8386

Nope. It's because cow's milk contains a molecule that is basically morphine, it's very addictive. Not a good thing. Hmm, if that were true you wouldn’t crave meats or leafy greens. It’s more accurate to say that your body begins to crave foods which is providing nutrients it values highly like salt, protein, fat, and other micronutrients (of which milk is exceedingly high in). Milk also has one of the highest protein utilization rates alongside different animal proteins like eggs, and beef.

I have a question. How do you feel when you are leaner vs a little more body fat? I see to feel bst around the 15 percent body fat mark that gives me a slight view of my abs. When I am leaner ( around 10 to 11 percent) it seems to be harder to maintain and if I let it i will quickly go back to the set point around 185 or so. I generally eat carnivore with some fruit around workout times... Which I need when I am leaner. When I am heavier I am good with full on carnivore.
@hooktraining3966

That makes a lot of sense. For an average person 15 percent is comfortably maintainable for sure. getting closer to 10 percent is harder to maintain and serves no purpose other than aesthetics and being better at calisthenics. Even 20 percent can look fine but when you go too much higher you will start to look like what people describe as fat.
