I mean, "Can Jessica get into the baby-proofed cupboards?" seems like a good video idea and then a variety of baby-proofing materials could be a tax write-off.

It would also be a great way to advocate for parents who are disabled in some way yet need to keep kids safe... which is probably very needed and overlooked by the companies that make babyproofing things.

I hate baby proofing because I can't get into it as an adult but apparently me as a baby could very easily get through all the baby proofing my mom put up. Makes it very awkward at some people's houses when I have to get someone else to open the baby gates.

Remember, you don't have to baby proof everything before the baby comes. The baby isn't going to be mobile for awhile, lol.
@thebookwyrmslair6757
@thebookwyrmslair6757 3 жыл бұрын
Exactly! The first couple months they'll stay where you put them. Then it becomes a gradual thing of baby can roll, so prep the bottoms of things - like lowest shelf of a bookcase or table. Baby can crawl - take care of outlets and prep up to knee high. Baby can pull up to a stand - check waist high. We also didn't put away a lot - but that's because we're weird and wanted our stuff out.

But some start earlier then others. Me and my brother started walking before we were even 9 months old. Not crawling, full on walking. It did scared our parents lol.

True. For example, you can probably use tablecloths for the first few months, but once the baby starts to pull itself up, only narrow table runners are safe.

Babys also don't need curtains. If you want them, that's fine. And if you find your baby has trouble to go to sleep. You can still get them. I understand that these are stressful times to become a parent. I wish you all the best. You two (or better three) will figure things out.

I find it so funny how new parents panic about newborns and parents like to tell you having a new baby is hard like based off my own experience and all of my friends newborns are so easy they sleep all the time you are supposed to nap when they do so thats nice they dont get dirty at all so the same baby grow will work for three or four days they cry so tiney so its cute not frustrating and they cant go anywhere so you can go to the bathroom uninterupted. My daughter is almost 1 11 months she walks around everywhere she has a taste for cat food we have to run after her taking random things out of her mouth and shes alway covered in dirt because she knows how to leave the house and go galavanting in the back yard. So youll have time to adjust before things get hard

The dark green dress was definitely my favourite. I was in awe from the first moment I saw it. It compliments your hair so well, it is so elegant, the cape... Just overall gorgeous. Definitely fancy enough for almost any occasion. You'd probably still stands out at the Oscars.

First of all, the maroon dress and the green dress are INCREDIBLE. Second, I get ocular migraines a lot (sometimes with the headache symptoms, sometimes not) and they can be really scary to experience! Good on you for knowing your limit and when you need to take a step back for yourself. It definitely helps to have an understanding and caring wife!

What can you start with? If it’s your dream, then the world needs it. Do you know that Martha Graham quote??? -- There is a vitality, a life-force, a quickening that is translated through you into action; and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium, and be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is; nor how valuable it is; nor how it compares to other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep open and aware directly to the urges that motivate you. Keep the channel open... No artist is pleased... There is no satisfaction whatever at any time. There is only a queer, divine dissatisfaction, a blessed unrest that keeps us marching - and makes us more alive than the others. Martha Graham (to Agnes DeMille)

Honestly, when I decided to only wear clothes that make me feel happy a few months ago (after only "indulging" in the occasional poodle skirt), I felt a bit self-conscious - especially the first time I went to work in a floor-length Edwardian skirt. Sure, some people gave me a second glance, but the only reactions I got were positive, and I've completely gotten used to it by now. Same with wearing britches with cool knee socks instead of long trousers. Just find "your thing", start doing it on a good day, when you're feeling confident, and you'll soon discover it will only make you MORE confident.

I wasn't expecting a video about dressing like a princess to make me think so deeply about my wardrobe. Most of what's in it is convenient or comfortable or work appropriate (which doesn't mean much right now since I've been working from my livingroom for more than a year). But I can't think of a single outfit that is the most "me". Instead I've got ideas in my head of pieces and outfits I have wanted to have or make for years, style choices that I feel so happy and free imagining myself in, but have not done anything about. Why shouldn't getting dressed every morning make me feel confident, and authentic to the innermost me? You've definitely got me thinking about some changes I need to start making. Time to put my sewing room to good use. :)

1. These dresses are life goals 2. The two of you are the cutest! 3. I love the openness on this channel, it is such a rare thing to see people talking honestly and not just presenting their best self. In the insta-fabulous world of today it's so important to get a little bit of realness, and there are some days you just feel bad, but pretty dresses might help you feel a little better :)

Thank you for a clip where you're NOT all done up, Jessica! It's a nice reminder that looking glamorous is performative and work, but looking beautiful is not. For me it serves as a great lesson that you don't have to dress up to feel beautiful, but also the power that clothing can have to give you a pick me up. And that we don't have to wait for a special occasion to wear our special outfits. My favorite dress was the the one with the purple sequins. And now I totally want to do my vacuuming and litter-box-scooping in a fancy cocktail dress - since I don't have any ball gowns! ;)

Since you asked, the outfit I feel most "me" in is my handmade Edwardian style walking skirt paired with a button up and a knit shirt with flowers over it. Possibly because I feel incredibly proud that I handsew and entire ankle length skirt despite having dodgy hands, but it also just gives me that feeling of looking like myself. Which, I agree, is a wonderful feeling, even if some other people might find it weird. As always, I absolutely adore these videos :)
