Blackgaol Knight really was a reality check, a reality check that slaps you around and calls you Suzen! But his armor is awesome! I managed to defeat him by spamming Maliketh's Black Blade's Destined Death on him. Cheap tactic but it worked.

I beat him using Wave of Gold. Constant knock down. Just had to balance stamina regen timing. Most of the Mausoleum bosses can be beat this way. Cheese I know.

After getting slapped over and over by him, I summoned two Sunbros with colossals, who promptly trapped him in a corner and bullied him with stunlock while I looked on with dawning recognition. After that, I tossed aside my light weapon bleed build for something that did serious poise damage, which served me well for the rest of the DLC.
