Actually Lucid really wants the feedback in real time: how the driver perceives what they experience and what they are thinking vs how the Lucid guy is perceiving things. Whilst I am sure that they wish any negative comments would not make it to air, they view that as a price worth paying. Tire noise - yes, that is an issue with EVs, though it seems Lucid may not have gotten the balance 100% here compared to others. What I do know is that when you combine a lack of engine noise with a lack of wind noise (courtesy of the excellent Cd .21), it really allows tire noise to make itself felt unless there is a lot of sound deadening material or a lot of work put into the tire selection design. A bit more work to do, but just about every other aspect of the car is a worldbeater.

I’m an ev engineer with 15 years experience working on electric vehicles. He was very candid about his assessment, however he was a little critical about the level of road noise. I know the roads in Arizona are sometimes very rough and you could see from the view that the road they were traveling on was almost like a gravel road. He mentioned the other ev’s in their target market were somewhat quieter, however you would have to test theirs on the same road to do a accurate analysis. I’ve seen other test drives of the Lucid Air on smooth roads where the level of interior noise was similar to the Mercedes. They’re are only two true ground up electric vehicles that are currently out there being offered for sale: the Lucid and Tesla. For me, the Lucid is the current state of the art and Tesla’s design is a few years behind them and the other legacy auto makers aren’t even in the ball park.

Nice "review" ! 😀 This is very subjective, but is the interior not completed or are they going minimalistic like Tesla ? Personally I don't like this interior, tho 😅. Maybe more interior options in the future ? Are the seats flat like most North American cars (e.g. Ford Mach-E), or more "puffed"/"formed" like most European cars (e.g. Renault Talisman) ? I have the impression the car is very noisy (Not only "a bit louder"). Although it could be vibrations from the car into the microphone ... I don't know. Will they add sound/vibration insulation (in wheels, sides, etc) for later versions, if this really was the "true" noise ? I'm sorry for all these questions. They just all popped in my head after watching this 😅.
