I scoffed at the idea of putting a pricey trolling motor on my jon boat, but man has it made a huge difference in the number of fish I'm putting in the boat now. You can catch fish drifting with the wind or current, but being able to stay on a set course at a set speed really does make a difference. It was definitely a worthwhile investment.

I have people say to me regularly. How are you catching all these big catfish? Then I explain about catching all different kinds of bait!! Doing research on the areas that I know that can hold big Flatheads. It cost money for tackle!! I go through a ton of line because the area's I fish tears up tackle. I have learned a ton of awesome ideas and tactics from this channel. I have a massive head start on everything when I pick up my Kayak. Yeah man when they came out with that spot lock feature on trolling motors I wasn't sold until I bought a new Phoenix bass boat and it had one and I gotta say it was ingenious!!! When I'm fishing bass tournaments I'll work my way down ridges or points out in the main lakes and when I catch a fish I'll hit my spot lock just to sit there a little bit and I'd say 90% of the time I'll either catch 1 more or a bunch more. I really don't know how I fought the waves and wind for so long without it.

Hey My Tennessee catfish'n fanatik brother. My name is Montana Troy and I am the fishing fanatik. I have fished every one of my 3 day weekends and a week vacation hunting down monster channel catfish on the snake river from ontario Oregon to Steck Park just below Oxbow Dam. I filmed a series called Steck Park State Record River Monsters where I said repeatedly that I was going to profile the biggest catfish in the river and hunt down a new state record channel catfish...and I did. In my videos I show how I determined where this fish would be, how I found the spot on the river where I caught him.
