Do you ever experience mid-project doubt? Do you press through, dump it in your UFO bin, or work on finding a solution? I'd love to hear about it! This is the link for the pattern I used 👚 Sugar Bush Serenity Knit Singlet Pattern (FREE) www.yarnspirations.com/sugar-bush-serenity-knit-singlet/SBK0130-012470M.html

Ok. Once again you have taught me so much! One and most importantly to me is that I'm not alone when it comes to doubting myself and how to work through it without giving up, which I tend to do. I to was in a serious car accident 3 years ago and still have several blown discs in my cervical and lumbar spine. I need at least 2 surgeries but alas no one takes my insurance. I began spinning because I already crochet and knit and I needed to to accomplish something good in my life. I dont need to tell you how pain can quickly drive you down into a lonely dark hole. Just wanted to thank you for your honesty and openness with us. You are and have done great things for me! Wish I would have met you when you lived here in LA. The tank looks amazing on you and the beads were a perfect touch!

[shows up a year late and without starbucks] this is a really cute top, 10/10. It really is a shame the first colour didn't work because it was absolutely gorgeous, but I agree it works much better like this, and the dark red really makes the beads pop out! This is where I wish I was any good at knitting so I could make one...

Thank you for your Chanel. I’m always happy after watching. I was so sad today when I went to feed my sheep this morning to find my 6 year old ewe had died over nigh. She had a stillborn lamb 3 weeks ago and was so depressed she wouldn’t eat. The vet and I tried everything we could think of. After burying her under our next apricot tree, I came in and watched your last video. Now I’m smiling.

That tank top is GORGEOUS! And you look absolutely fabulous in it. The colours really suit you and it’s a beautiful pattern. Project mishaps: I always try to fix them. I might be a little bit disgusted at them for a short while and might at times need to let something marinate for a short while, but I always endup going back to them. If needed again… and again… and again. It’s extremely rare that something is considered a total loss. Mote often than not though, I get to fixing the issue right away. Some of my best ever work and niftiest hacks have come out of mishaps. “Happy little accidents”, to quote Bob Ross, happen as well. Those are part of what makes crafting such fun: you’re never done learning and there’s no way of telling where you’ll end up. 😊

Hi Evie, I was flicking through your posts while I was eating, after a hectic day dyeing yarn and roving, and found this one! I'm so glad you decided to over-dye your yarn, the match looked great on completion and I know you wouldn't have been happy if you hadn't done it. I dyed some of today's yarn and roving what was supposed to be an old rose colour but now looks more like terra cotta, a nice enough colour but not one I usually like to use. However, I am mixing my singles at the moment, spinning a plain one and a fancy one to ply together, to use in this mythical weaving project in my head(!?) So I will probably break the roving up and blend it in small pieces into something more vivid, and the yarn is just a small skein made up of left over bits of fluff so not exactly a disaster. But I do over-dye frequently (especially when I have accidentally left white bits, hate that...) and some of my favourite yarns have happened this way, as space dyed skeins. So the terra cotta may still become another colour... The beading on your top looked AGONISING to do but so pretty when finished. Very nicely done! Incidentally, I usually do the heat part of my wool dyeing in the microwave but the very old one I keep for dyeing finally gave up the ghost today, so it was out with the faithful crockpot to steam my yarn in open bags on the hob. I too am dead now, but done!!!!

Bravo!…the learning is in the doing.....I think the bigger lesson is to trust your instincts....learning to ‘correct’ or adjust is part of the process especially when we are creating....this is a one time thing, you are not a manufacturer in China....I think many people get stuck, me included, that things work out perfect the first time out....learning to make adjustments along the way is the ‘art’ part....it’s a process,and you cannot avoid the process.....it came out beautiful.....wear it in good health......thanks for sharing.....luv ya bunches......✂️🐑🎨

Great video! When knitting with beads I’ve always strung them all on the yarn first then slide them one by one into the stitch. It was great to see it done the other way. I’ve also started dyeing and what a help this was to see how you fixed the tone issue. Beautifully done!
@JillianEve
@JillianEve 3 жыл бұрын
I've done the slide the beads along the yarn method too. I think the benefit of the hook it up onto the stitch is that the beads sit on the top of the fabric without having a part of the yarn cross over them. It is a lot faster to do the beads on the strand method though. This took forever! ✨🐑🧶💜🌷😊

Wow!!🔨🔨 I'm sending you two hammers because you 100% nailed that color! The way the darker red runs through the bottom part in bits really puts it together like it was all one skein of yarn, then the pop with the beads...*chefs kiss in the air* its beautiful and it looks amazing next to your skin. You should make you a black bolero to wear with it, that way your arms are covered but the beautiful hard work you done still shines out. Idk just a thought.

Beautiful story and project! I've had multiple times of at a start of a project I've done a lot of thinking and think I know what I'm doing. I have made the right decisions and adjustments and then when I've worked on it for a week or two I find out that I didn't know what I was doing and I have to either frog or trash.. or leave sitting in the corner for 2 years.

I think those road blocks are responsible for the majority of UFOs sitting in corners for years! It is such a real thing! ✨🐑🧶💜🌷😊

This turned out great! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and remedies when things didn’t quite turn out right. There is always a learning there somewhere IF we have the courage to try! I struggle with the confidence to take the first step🙈

I'd maybe undo about ten rows and then follow a random stripe generator with the two reds taking turns.Your garment would be an abundance of amazing reds of ruby and purply blue reds ( Knitty has a stripe generator in a homespun pattern) . OOOO.. I watched to the end and your remedy is lovely!

I love the grey-to-color reveal! You’re so creative🥰 That top is so fun, and I learned a lot about color while you were working on getting the red shade right.
