Man, Indarius and Xiao's screams legitimately made me cry. Last time we saw those scenes, we didn't get voices, but this time, it was so raw. I had to go back and rewatch the cutscene because I missed the good parts because it just shook me to my core. Yeah, it's fiction, but those were the last memories he likely had of his family. Mihoyo/Hoyoverse once again flexing their ability to instill emotional pain.

Having goofball Itto in it was great and seeing Xiao's character development was great too. If he died I would have been devastated since he is my favorite character, but since his sacrifice was written so well, I would have accepted it as part of Xiao's character. Since he is a protector and his focus was protecting and getting them out safely. If it was a poorly written sacrifice I would riot, but fortunately our favorite retired GeoDaddy saved him and spared me the heartache of losing Xiao.

I guess here's a theory? There's five Yakshas, and each have a vision. Anemo, Pyro, Hydro, Geo and Electro visions. So just and Kage said, this is like history repeating itself. Anemo = Xiao, Pyro = Yanfei, Hydro = Yelan, Geo = Itto and Electro = Kuki, and i guess Boyang(a traverler) and his brother = Lumine and Aether. But idk how to explain that one because Lumine didn't loss her sanity like Yelan's ancestor(the one who came back = Lumine getting out of the chasm) and Aether weren't even there(Or is he?). Maybe it's referring to Lumine becoming a "lost soul" inside Teyvat and Aether losing his mind in the Abyss instead? We don't know why the ancestor who came back lost his mind though (hopefully just not yet)

I was so uninterested in yelan when she was announced bc i thought she would be that one-dimensional "sadist" type of character but seeing her actually being very caring for the group (esp itto after their conflict), yanfei explaining her past and feelings on sacrifice and her reaching out for xiao made me do a full 180 and now i love her and i do not at all feel bad about accidently pulling her

The way Xiao lists the English names gave me a stroke, because all other yaksha had four different sets of names except for Xiao making it super trippy to determine which name had what purpose in context with the Chinese version. And it weirdly all feels like a translation error but what do i know- Anyways I think with the help of the wiki and a good headache I figured out a comprehensive-ish list for the five yakshas personal names and titles that made sense to me at least lol Chinese version Title (translation) - Name - English version Title - corresponding element Jinpeng ("golden peng") - Xiao - Alatus - anemo Tengshe ("soaring snake") - Fushe - Bosacius - electro Huo shu ("fire rat") - Yingda - Indarias - pyro Luo juan ("coiling snail") - Fanan - Bonanus - hydro Xinyuan ("mind-monkey") - Minu - Menogias - geo I hope everyone has a nice day :)

I think they gave Xiao nice character development not only did we see why he is the way he is, but we saw how he views the world and talk to people change as well. Also I have to say the whole gang really balanced each other out. I’m glad Itto was there for comic relief, Yanfei we got to know a little more about her so I was very pleased. Especially how Yelan tried reaching out to Xiao before his sacrifice it was all done very well. Tbh any patch after this has big shoes to fill

I think everyone's confusion with Paimon seeming racist to Itto stems from bad translations in culture. Itto is an Oni, which is a form of yokai and is synonymous with all forms of ghosts and demons; the japanese kind of lumping him in there with spiritual entities like ghosts despite his physical presence. In fact, "Oni" literally uses the kanji that translates to "ghost" in chinese; which is why there are jokes like "Wow, an exorcist is friends with an oni(a ghost)?" or "You're an oni(ghost), how can you be afraid of ghosts?" It kind of makes more sense when you know. Paimon still rude flying rations tho.
