Guys, it's not about "cash" only .. it's about respect. Trent earns less than Maguire and Ben Chilwell, Vandijk earns less than Reece James, and Salah earned a 3 year contract easily. It's never that the money isn't there. These players are the machine that BRINGS THE MONEY. Liverpool is one of the biggest earning clubs in the world, why does this has to be a discussion? Think of yourself working in a company whose revenue is directly tied to your performance and in complete loyalty to the company you did your best to put it on the map. Now suddenly HR is telling you that your new contract is without any bonus or of a limited time even though we got the money. You respond saying but the company on the other side of the street is offering you more money and more time, and the HR responds saying "You're a bit selfish eh!". Even if you care more about your career in that company, you wouldn't like working for them in the future or even keep up your performance.

FSG and their money ball method don't allow them to give out silly money contracts, like Utd, Chelsea and other wealthy clubs. Do Salah, VVD and TAA deserve similar wages to the likes of Maguire, Chilwell, James and Rashford? Sure they do but if for some reason the players end up not performing (for whatever reason), the club is then in a predicament eg. Rashford and Utd. Paying 200k plus a week for a player to sit on the bench is not good for business. Trust me, I want those 3 Liverpool players to get whatever they're asking for but FSG (with the help of Klopp and Edwards) are where they are today because of their strict business methodology.
@MrFearDiarkisКүн бұрын
Oh sweet summer child. If only who lived outside of your bubble and realize that capitalism does not give a damn about sentiments, loyalty, respect and every other attributes of humility. The club can clearly see that he is performing this well currently because he wants a bigger better contract. What will happen when he gets what he wants? Will he carry this same performance to the next season? You need to realize currently the club has him under their control because they have something he craves (a luxurious contract). If he is rewarded what he wants, they then lose they hold they had on him. He can (Just like the "young youth prospect, wonder kid, young starboy of England, Marcus Rashford") choose to not give it his all anymore and instead focus on his early retirement and maybe visit his sister for her birthday due to his free time gotten from his "season long injury". Understand what I mean...
@puppy2350Күн бұрын
Dumb take. Also you are thinking of wages the wrong way. ManUtd and Chelsea have been overspending and are where they are in their miserable state of existence now because they have several underperforming high wage players and Chelsea is middling around in the table because Abramovich's oil money is gone. This absurd artificial standard of player wages has been killing the game for well over a decade now to the point where we need the owners to keep spending and investing more and more year after year. Are some of the football fans high or do they not understand that a club is a business that employs somewhere from hundreds to thousands of people and has to earn profits at the end of the day? Asking every owner to spend money like it's water till kingdom come? Or do you think an establishment with so many jobs should turn out a loss and somehow people wave their hand and magically make it go away? Look what happened to Barcelona despite their dominance and stars. Utterly laughable how you think the game works. What? Did you think the money for these €100+ mill transfers and these €300k+ player wages comes from trees or something?
@PotatoAimNr122 сағат бұрын
Just because other clubs are pissing money up the wall, doesn't mean we should. They couldn't get rid of some players at United because their contracts were way too high and they'd rather sit on the bench than leave and play every week. I really want to sign these 3 players on a new contract, but they're already on insane money as is. Wanting more because other players get more, is daft. Not everyone is just in football for money.

@@matthewvaughan8192 You may not have noticed but Real Madrid's business model has drastically shifted over the last few years. Its no longer about competing with Premier League clubs financially for them, they can't compete with the revenue clubs in England generate. Their business model has now shifted towards nicking players who are in the last year of contract for free, by promising them ballon dor's and champions leagues. Ballon dor was never a big deal in England but Real spends a lot of money and has its own PR team to influence ballon dor's votes. The spanish clubs also do better in champions leagues as their domestic league is uncompetitive and they can rest players during weekends and field their best teams on weekdays. Whole season is setup to do better in champions league while in England, teams prioritize the domestic league. So they have created this fake allure of champions leagues and ballon dors to attract talents for free so that they can sell them back to English clubs in a few years for a fee.

the appeal is simple, you win the league a few times for sure and you will win champions league almost for sure, saying winning it for liverpool is more special is correct but so is winning it for aston villa or atletico madrid more special then winning it for liverpool or madrid so should none of their players ever leave for a bigger club. Ronaldo played for united who were the best team and always winning leagues he left for madrid and look at his legacy. nobody in their right mind is saying he should of stayed at united all his trophies and bal on dors would mean more because he just would not have as many. plus also yes money is so important to these guys, madrid offer more money and more chance of winning leagues and champions leagues then any premier league club or any club in the world so lots of players will think ok i can get paid more and i am almost certain to win more big name trophies going off the facts and win percentage over the years, plus madrid are always going tp be 1 of the 2 leading forces in that league while in england god knows what money city will spend and offer players and then you have chelsea who are throwing out billions and have got better and they will spend again both of them while liverpool are better managed they cant keep up with those wages and funds which is why chelsea and city have won more leagues then liverpool since 2010, in england its citys league most years they are the dominant force and will spend again to get back on top. in spain madrid and barca are unrivaled so there is no worry of playing second or third fiddle to other teams for 9 out of 10 years like liverpool have done in england even under klopp. that is the appeal of madrid certainty

Mo is likely considering a move to Saudi Arabia at the same age Ronaldo did, aiming to continue playing at the highest level for the next five years. For the past nine years, Liverpool has been his home, and uprooting his entire life is no small inconvenience. It involves leaving behind close friendships, his wife’s social circle (which likely carries significant weight in his decision), and the stable environment of his children’s schools and their own circles of friends. Relocating to a non-English-speaking city like Paris or Munich for just 2-3 years before heading to Saudi Arabia would be highly disruptive to his family’s life. From a human perspective, it’s easy to understand why he might be seeking a 4-5-year deal. He is trying to secure one final, long-term contract at the club where he has built a home before considering his next chapter. While this may seem unreasonable from the club’s point of view, his reasons are deeply personal and meaningful. This aligns with the sentiment behind the term "FAR AWAY."

Trent should go to Real Madrid. It’s an unbelievable opportunity that most players would kill for. Not just for the football but for the life experience of living in a different culture and (maybe) learning the language. We need to encourage more players to go abroad and further their development as players and people.

No, we need to encourage people to think with their heart. Team hopping should be the exceptions, not the standard.

Jamie do us all a favour and shut it. Mo might as well go to man utd in spite of you considering how much you have it against him. Matter of fact, just stop talking about lfc, you were an average player that got carried by stevie g anyway and an even worse pundit that does no favours to his club

Salah, Van Dijk and even TAA will all stay at Liverpool. Anyone thinking otherwise is deluded and fooled by contract negotiation tactics. Liverpool needs to keep this squad together and add a striker and midfielder in the summer. They need a number 9. Darwin is inconsistent and just not good enough. Jota is too injury prone. It's best to sell Darwin, get a new 9 and have Jota as a back-up. While its a huge issue if Gravenberch gets injured. So they really need a number 6 that can compete with Gravenberch and replace him if he's injured. In a best care scenario they get a player thats young. No more Zubimendi for example. Gravenberch should be the first pick on 6 and have a solid back-up. While Szoboslai needs to be replaced as well. He's not as good. I rate Curtis Jones higher. But I wouldn't make that the priority because Curtis Jones is a good player and Szoboslai can be his back-up. The leftback position is a higher priority. Robertson isn't as good as he was. Tsimikas isn't good enough. Liverpool needs a new leftback. So a new leftback, a back-up for Gravenberch, a new striker. And in a perfect world, they identity a replacement for an ageing Salah. Or they go all-in with the new number 9 and get a huge talent for the striker position, so that you already have a Salah replacement goalwise. Diaz/Gakpo, New Striker/Jota, Salah/Chiesa Curtis Jones/Szoboslai MacAllister, Gravenberch (squad depth needed) New leftback, Van Dijk, Konate, TAA Allison/Mamardashvili

Salha has never been shown the respect he deserves for what he has done for Liverpool because of him being Muslim.if he was a pagan they would be worshipping him like a god. I don't blame him if he leaves, good luck to him. And thats coming from a season ticket holder and a big Liverpool fan
